More of a B&B than hotel

This is NOT a courtyard Marriott! It’s a beautiful, historical complex. I had an amazing apartment with kitchen and living room. Only problem was limited parking - but I’d stay here any time I’m in the Orlando area.

Lucerne is actually more of a B and B retreat. Breakfast was decent. Fresh fruit each day was a bonus. It was pleasant to sit out on the porch and look out onto the courtyard with fountain. On the other hand, bathrooms are small but clean. The showerhead was really nice because you didnt have to stay in longer than you had to. The sofabed needs a new mattrress. Another customer complained about his sofabed as well. The Lucerene is in a great location right near downtown Orlando, very near I-4 and the 408 tollway. Only 12 mins. From Leu Gardens. Don't miss out on Lido's italian restaurant. Desk staff recommended it, and it was delicious. (On south orange between kaley and michigan ave. On the east side of orange.) This hotel is good for a short stay.

Lido's Italian restaurant. Try the lasagna Ravioli, or salmon. You wont be disappointed.

Hotel experience at Lake Lucerne

The hotel room needs to be updated, the carpet was old. The rooms had a funny smell. The staff was helpful and courteous! Fresh paint, wood floors would help, new comforters, flat screen t.v. etc!

Don't beilieve the picture!!!!!!!!!

This is not at all what it appears. They show you a picture of a victorian looking cottage, but that is only one small piece. The rest of it is a cheesy old apartment (think college) building that has been adapted. It appears, very obviously, to date to the early 70's, and has clearly never been updated. If that "look" was the intent, however distasteful, that would be one thing. Unfortunatley, the peeling paint and cracked caulking tell a different story - it's just old and in need of repair. In addition, all of the rooms have exterior entrances, and it is directly adjacent to an overpass with a large homeless population about 30 yards away. Just what I was looking for.

Eclectic Vintage Small Hotel

When Jackson Browne sang about an abode "in the shade of the freeway," he wasn't referring to the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne, though one of the parking lots is in fact under an off-ramp. And this lovely little hotel has no relation to the Marriott sub-brand, either. This hostelry takes its name from the fact that the three three historic structures (from different periods in Orlando's history) form a tree-lined courtyard at the dead end of a lane. With its setting adjacent to Lake Lucerne, it's hard to believe you are in the middle of downtown Orlando. But you are, and other than the huge Disney and Universal complexes south of town, much of what a visitor to Orlando might seek is within walking distance. I've stayed in the elegant Philips House and enjoyed its 19th-century charm, as well as The Wellborn, converted from a Deco-era small apartment building with architectural nods to Frank Lloyd Wright. The Wellborn features lovely three-room suites that have retained their period charm with furnishings and baths. The complimentary breakfast serves to further set this Courtyard apart from the nation-wide brand of the same name. A high-end B&B might provide a more sumptuous repast, but the morning fare here is way better than the you-get-what-you-pay-for "free" breakfast that travelers endure -- or perhaps better ignore -- at most similarly-priced mid-range business chains. And the breakfast room on the first floor of the Norment-Parry is a charming B&B dining room writ large. A very pleasant and spacious room in which to prepare for the coming day.

Business stay

Arrived early evening and discovered light refreshments were being served and after a comfortable night's sleep I awoke to enjoy a delightful morning breakfast. It is located next to a nice residential area with easy access to the highway. Highly recommend this hotel.

adorable and quaint

This lovely B and B is nestled amongst greenery, mature trees brick walkways and cute tables and chairs. The complimentary happy hour and full complimentary breakfast was far better than expected The buildings may not be new but this fact and antique furnishings add to the character of the place. The comfort an;d cleanliness was outstanding and t;he staff could not be more helpful. I had a few requests and they did everything possible to meet them. After a long , hard day day of work it was great to be far from the maddening crowd yet still downtown.
