Spooky bad

We had to wait over 40 minutes just to get checked into our room. The lady who checked us in was very nice (the only nice thing about this hotel, in fact) and said she would upgrade us to a kid suite for our wait. When we got to the room, it was the worst hotel room I've ever seen, and I've traveled through South America so that's saying a lot. When we walked in the room, the door to the balcony was wide open, the room was about 90 degrees, and the furniture was placed in an odd way where you had to turn sideways to squeeze by the table to get to the bed. I immediately closed the door and locked it and then turned on the AC, which made a really loud, rattling noise. The "kid's suite" area was a partitioned part of the regular room with bunk beds, but the beds were small and would only be suitable for preschool aged kids, which mine aren't. That area of the room had wallpaper that was peeling off the walls and the light in there didn't work at all, and the whole area looked like a room in a haunted house. My son started crying when he saw it and said he couldn't sleep there. We went back down and asked for another room without the kids suite, which was a better room (at least the lights worked and the door to the balcony wasn't open when we walked in). Both rooms were dirty, with stains in the carpet, sticky counter and furniture tops, and mismatched drawers shoved into the furniture. When we went to get ice, we had to go out of our side of the hotel, down to the lobby, and up to the fifth floor of the other side of the hotel to find a working ice maker (stopping at each of the other floors on the way only to find the ice makers not working). That side of the hotel looked like they had interior corridors, so maybe those rooms are nicer, but the lobby and hallways on that side were very hot, like the management didn't want to spend the money to turn on the air conditioning. We stayed for one night just as a place to sleep and only because it was late and we were exhausted, but I would never stay there again. I can't believe Ramada lets this hotel use it's name. I know it's probably a franchise and independently owned, but you'd think they must have some minimal standards for being able to use the name. Don't let the lobby fool you; it was the only part of the hotel that it looks like they've done any updating to at all. This will definitely make me think long and hard about ever booking a room at a Ramada Inn again! Also, the elevators on the side with outside corridors don't match up to the floors, so even if you take the elevators up to the floor you're on, you still have to go up or down a half flight of stairs to get to your room. Quite a hassle when traveling with kids!

Really disappointed

The lobby and grounds were inviting. but the room had a wet carpet smell and stainless steel surfaces rusty. Furniture in the room stained and the TV was older than me. Was afraid to sleep under the covers.

OVER BOOKED USE CAUTION!

I booked and paid for my room 20 days prior to my trip to the Daytona 500. When we arrived at the hotel the Mom of the family of 4 in front of us advised they had been waiting an hour and that the hotel and over sold their rooms! At 1:00 in the morning they were sending someone up to clean a room for them. 20 minutes later is was my turn to talk to Alex at the front desk. He charged me a $5.00 resort fee. I asked what the resort amenities were and he said the bar , restaurant and lobby area (of course they were not open at 1:00am but whatever). After 15 minutes of typing in the computer and making 3 trips to the back office he advised that he did not have the room we booked (2 queen beds). He said he could put us in a room with a King bed. This was not acceptable. He then advised he could put us in the room we requested at the Travel Lodge 10 minutes away. I asked if this was a comperable hotel with 3 star rating and he said yes. Well it took 18 minutes to get to the Travel Lodge and it was maybe a 2 star, probably 1 star. The front desk advised "we only have smoking single King bed rooms" . I could of got a King bed room non-smoking back at the Ramada. Some more time on the computer a few words back and forth and a look into my eyes and the clerk was able to find a room with 2 beds. Finally in bed around 2:30 am. Room was not what I paid for. The clerk at the Travel Lodge advised that it is common for hotels in the area to over book during busy times. I thought booking and paying 20 days ahead of time should of insured my room.......... guess not.

Worst experience ever!

After being stuck in normal orlando traffic, I finally made it to the hotel. However, after my phone dying with no gps I had my brother go inside to verify we were at the correct ramada. He was told to wait in line to ask one simple question. Finally, I went in and got everything straightened out but it took almost an hour for employee Robin to check less than 2 people in!!! There was an older man up there with a god complex and didn't help her at all. I was so aggravated with this place, the staff...I thought ok the lobby looks half decent let's relax and get into the room. I was mortified! I honestly felt like I was in a post murder scene! The carpet was dirty and disgusting, our table was broken held up by the nastiest chair I've ever seen. Our microwave and fridge didn't work, given no garbage. We called and asked about wifi and menus, their response just come to the lobby! Then we needed a few cups, and the older man comes back with towels and says we have no cups but here's some towels. I was parked outside the entrance prior to checking in as well, and crazy delivery drivers hit and scratched my car on the right side and just drove away. never will I stay at one of your hotels, I will tell everyone I know how disgusting and how it is not maintained at all, and I hope the health department shuts places like this down. It's sad because the location is ideal and I'm sure they have lots of business. This is a true show of someone that cannot run a business, their staff, and is keeping all the money for themselves! This experience I cannot even begin to even put on a scale for 1-10. They either need to clean up their act in all aspects or they will honestly be shut down within the next year or so.
