Marriott's Grande Vista

The pools are nice, the size of the suites are nice. However, the first thing you notice is the smell! We ended up in three different rooms at this resort - all three smelled "musty". The larger suites are OK as far as full suites with Kitchens go, but the smaller rooms are a little too small. It is narrow. The carpet does not even go all the way to the walls - it stops about an inch short. I was in my bare feet the last night and when I stepped into the tub in the morning to shower, you would have thought I just walked across the asphalt parking lot. This place is dirty, in need of a face-lift, and not worth the high price we paid. Choose one of the newer hotels in the area and leave this to the Vacation Club owners!

The grounds are beutiful and well keeped, however, the room was not great. Rug need change or shampoo, shower/tub dark and slippery (dangerous), needed to get on your knees to use the microwave, no cream or sugar for coffee. Room was not very confortable. Errors during check-in etc.

stayed at the resort and went to 2 pools daily. main pool is very crowded with lots of kids. went to the quieter pool but no services offered so had to walk back to villa for lunch and main pool for drinks, etc. ugh!!! room was no different than an ordinary hotel room.

Staff was great, room was small, narrow, old, painted 100 times, 4 x 4 tiles in bath...just old. If you are going to put me a 1960 built room, give me a 1960 price. We paid over $178.00 and never again!!! Fairlield Inns are more modern and newer and less expensive. Coffee machine overflowed, waited 30 minutes for a new one. Many TV stations were of poor reception. Housekeeping garbage bags left in bathroom after room was cleaned.

We love this brand and were excited to try a vacation (time-share) villa. It is population-dense. Row upon row of 5-story units - would have been fine if we intended to cook. No real restaurant onsite, although the snack bar makes a decent omelet for breakfast. No evening entertainment, no piano bar or band on the weekends. In fact, no courtesies normally expected at this brand's hotels. The best thing was housekeeping - friendly, thorough. Location was a plus, which is why we chose it. If you don't mind cooking for yourself, it's clean and ok.

Arrived late, around midnight. Check in was quick with no problems. Room was clean. Room had one king bed (comfortable), and one pull out couch (very uncomfortable). In general, the stay was good. Hotel is close to Disney Parks and Universal as well. Great location overall. House keeping was anoying. We told them to come back at 11am one day, and they kept knocking on our door every 30 minutes. Hotel is Ok if you travel with the family to do the typical Theme park hoping and just need a clean place to sleep.

Even though very busy with nusiness, time spent at the hotel was relaxing and fun. Great views, great walking. Food court, aimed at Family Disney goers, not so hot.
