Livin' our dream

It was a very clean and nice hotel. Over priced for what you had. The sign states $8 a night to park your car,the front desk said it was $9 a night but on the bill it was $12 per night. For what you pay for a night stay you should be able to park for free. The staff was very nice and helpful. Nice court area with a small cafe' to get sandwiches, pizza, chips, drinks.... They were very nice and you got a really good sub for the money. The pool and hot tub were hugh but didn't use them.

Wouldn't stay at that hotel again

Staff are good but there are a lot of things that I just wasn't happy with this stay. Outlets are wearing out that its hard to keep your electronics charged. Have to pay $12/night for parking and not just that, their parking system isn't working properly. All their machines wouldn't read the room key so its not very convenient.

Hidden charges

It is a good hotel but you pay more than the listed price. Parking is $12 per day minimum (more with valet); internet is about $10 per day and they even charge $1.50 for local calls. Our $107 per night room came to more than $150 with charges and taxes. It was nice but cost much more than we bargained for. I would not stay at this or any other Doubletree again.

Memorable vacation!

It was very peaceful, being such a large hotel I was amazed on the tranquilty of the Hotel. The pool area had plenty of towels, it was clean. one night at came to my room and the maid had decorated the bed with my childrens stuff animals it was so touching, the maid took that extra step to put a smile on us when we came to the room, I wish I knew who it was to them personally. I will stay at this hotel again and recommend it to family and friends.

Great Value!!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Double Tree Universal Orlando. The room was very clean and the bed extra comfortable. We had a great view of the park from our room and could see both Universal and Islands of Adventure. The staff was very helpful and always generous when asked for the free, award winning cookies!! (my kids loved the fact that they could ask for a freshed baked cookie anytime of the day, even for the road trip home)! The hotel offers a free shuttle to take you to and from the parks, but they only run first thing in the morning and late afternoon, hours before the park closed. It would be nice if the hotel offered a shuttle at the time the parks close. Though it's only a 15 minute walk to the parks or $5 by cab (for late at night). Overall, a very good value for the money. Can't say enough about the free, warm cookies!!!!!

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Be sure to ask the front desk for free bus passes for the morning shuttle to the parks. They also have lots of great coupons for dinning at City Walk.

great way to get knocked in the head!

Cheap to stay but then you got to pay $12 to park a day then breakfest is $20 per person. Theres a $30 fee I got to sort out they charged. Just stay at the hyat around the corner much better deal for the $. There you get a couch in your room and free breakfest and no b.s. parking fees. And you wont need to walk a half mile to get to your room. Last to say bad thermostate in the room had it set to 64 degrees and sweating. Whats wrong there.

Room was nice- bed very comfortable!

Very disappointed to find they cancelled room service 6 months ago! The choice of restaurant which is available for breakfast is Pompanos which was ok but pricey for what you got. Your other choice is Starbucks but they are only open till 3 pm. The morale of the staff is totally lacking! You get the impression that they are just putting in their day and not too happily. I picked this hotel as it was close to Unuversal Orlando but I fact it's about a $5 cab ride. You can walk to it but save your energy as you will need it when you go to Universal. If I can recommend , stay at a hotel which offers room service or has restaurants that serve half decent food.
