Very nice stay
Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and comfy. Shower/bath clean and stocked. Only negative was no complimentary breakfast.

Great Orlando Location
The hotel served as a great base for our exploration of Universal and Disney. It's location close to Interstate 4 made it easy to get to the various locations we wanted to visit.

Way better than expected
The photographs do not do this hotel justice,(ie the pool appears small on the photo, etc...) . It was difficult to gauge from them what we would find on arrival and we based our choice greatly on customer reviews.We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very well kept, very clean, the pool area is a nice place to relax or even have dinner or a drink (they have tables set up all around), the pool is decent size, it stays open late!,with an outdoor jacuzzi. The gift shop also stays open late which comes in handy for last minute necessities. the staff is friendly and professional. The only drawback is that the complimentary shuttles to the parks advertized on the website are very infrequent and apparently are only available in the morning. So most of the time we ended up catching a cab ( a short , inexpensive ride , as the hotel is very close to ALL parks but yet something to be considered if they want to inprove on anything)

Citywalk is a great place for dinner. Hotel charges $10 for a car to get there, but cab ride is really only $7 (you'll need to fend for yourself on the way back and that's what a cab will run).

Very upset tourist
Terrible experience at the Crown Orlando
We chose the Crown Universal Orlando because it was central to all locations. Once there, we had several very negative experiences with the staff and decided that we wanted to shorten our stay from 8 days to 2 days. It took many hours and many phone calls to be able to do this. Crowne wanted us to pay for the entire reservation regardless of when we left. The desk staff and manager were entirely rude, Crowne corporate was not able to assist without 'approval' from the local manager. [...] the best we were able to do was leave early with a one day penalty. To top it off, there was a fire alarm pulled while we were going through this and we stood outside with many other guests for 30 minutes. When no one came to give us an update, we went into the lobby to find it was business as usual. We told both the front desk and the conciere that there were still people outside and no one went to tell them to come in. Also this caused the internet to be down which further complicated or attempts to leave the hotel. Overall, awful experience, rude staff, and a below par hotel made this the worst hotel experience ever.

Crown Plaza Orlando Visit
The location was great for what we wanted to do. Hotel was close enough to Universal Studios and City Walk that a short cab ride ($10) was a better option than driving and parking there ($15). For $5 difference it saved a long walk from the parking garage at the park and no worries about directions or DUI's if you wanted a few drinks while visiting.
