Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Orlando Airport, FL

We had a late checkin and a short night because we were flying out the next morning. When I first saw the hotel I could tell it was one of the oldest from what was around the area. I must say the checkin was fast and easy but when we saw the room I was very disappointed. The room was small outdated and wasn't well maintained. The AC was broken and the bedding looked old and dirty. We had to ask for another room. I wasn't expecting that ordeal after spending a long last day at Disney and having to get up at 4 a.m. to catch a early flight. We looked at the ratings prior to booking this hotel but I don't think I can trust those ratings. I would never stay there again nor would I wish it on anyone else. They have you locked into the room rate with no refund so one can't change their mind after seeing what the place looks like. Got me once but you'll never have that chance again.

Upon my arrival at the hotel the front desk staff was pleasant and professional; from there it was all downhill. I took the elevator up to my room, once the elevator door opened my nostrils were attacked by the strong odor of cigarette smoke. The green carpet throughout the hotel lobby and floor was gross and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Fortunately my room was a non-smoking room and luckily did not smell of smoke. The linens on the bed were absolutely gross. The didn't feel fresh or clean and seemed they were washed in cheap and harsh detergent and both mattresses in the room were not supportive and appeared that needed to be replaced like a year ago! I was so disgusted by the linens in my bed I slept completely clothed because I did not want those linens to touch my skin!

I was only there for 2 nights and needed something close to the airport because I had an early a.m. flight. The breakfast was a good varity of foods. Carpets in the hall had bleach stains. Overall appearance was just okay for the rooms but very nice in the lobby. The rooms were clean but very yellow-dimmed lighting.

Did not realize that I would be assigned a smoking room. Found the smoke residue offensive. Night clothes smelled of smoke when I took them out of my suitcase the next day. I would recommend this hotel but with reservations.

arrived late to find no parking, but helpful staff said to just park in the no parking area out front. room was musty on arrival. cleared up after aging ac system kicked in. bathroom showed aging signs. breakfast was above average. 10 miles and tolls to and from orlando, so not as desirable a place to stay if you have an afternoon flight.

The hotel was clean, up-to-date, excellent person on the desk when we arrived; but we were shocked when she told us there'd be a $75 charge for the pet -- a small dog. That was more than the room cost. I haggled them down -- but still an outrageous fee compared to most pet-friendly places that charge $10 - $15. Complimentary breakfast very good.

Location was good; free airport shuttle from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. ran on time; outdoor pool, no restaurant or bar on property; could not connect to internet even after spending 30 min. on the phone with customer service; internet in lobby was painfully slow. We complained about lack of internet to desk clerk in the evening and they told us to call customer service. We complained to the desk clerk at check out and she only offered to notify the manager. Jacuzzi suite was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There are a lot of hotels near the airport with restaurants on property; I would recommend another hotel to someone who had no transportation.

I liked that I could open the screened windows. The room was spacious and very clean, and shuttle service was easy. The bathroom sink was leaking badly and the office staff offered to move me to another room. There is no T.V. sitting room, no cafe, and the internet PC downstairs times out after 10 minutes. Overall good standard but I prefer a hotel with a cafe/bar and unlimited internet access. The service was good, but not exceptional. Good value for the money.

This was the second time we stayed..in a 2 week period at the same hotel The first day/night was great..The second stay..the room was NASTY stained dirty chair and couch..it was a shock..lije,,was this the same place as before!! The rest of the experience was fine the staff most helpful
