All in all, a very enjoyable stay
However, some of the staff lacked common sense (leaving champagne and orange juice I had requested be in the fridge for my arrival out so that the ice melted everywhere and the orange juice sat for hours) and given the price of the room, it seemed outrageous that the hotel charges $10 per day for wi-fi and $15 per day for use of the gym! The location and the individual balconies/patios, as well as lovely decor, more than made up for these inconveniences, though.

Great, Affordable and Comfortable
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was the average size room, but it was beautifully furnished Bahamian-style, and had a priceless view of the setting sun and beach. The bed was a king and very comfortable. The staff was courteous and friendly. It was one of the only TWO hotels on the beach, and to be honest, the other one (Edgewater) didn't hold a candle to it. It was also nice to have complimentary valet park our car. And when we ordered a cab it arrived promptly. There were several places to choose from to dine as well, one place also being right beside the beach which was super nice. The food was very good, and the portions were huge! Unfortunately you had to pay for everything on the beach - umbrellas, towels, beds, etc, so it costs you almost $50 just to set up. And when I arrived one evening around 4pm (they closed down at 5) I was not even offered a discount on the beach necessities even though there was only 1 hour left.

We really enjoyed "The Dock" restaurant - the have a bar, indoor seating area, and a beautiful ourdoor area as well right on the Marina. It was great at night with all the trees lit up with rope lighting. During the day, a great place to go is Venetian Village - there are many little restaurants there to choose from. Feels almost like you are in Italy.

Paradise found! We stayed in the Patio overlooking the pool.At first I thought it would be noisy but once in the room we did not here any outside noise or even noise from other rooms. very clean! hotel staff was friendly. Although, we did find out that other guests had beach chairs, umbrellas and breakfast included with the cost of their rooms. Those specials were thru other web sights and the hotel web sight. we definately would stay again.

Not budget friendly
Considering this is "slow season" for many of the hotels in the area and the current state of our economy, this hotel is not a good choice if you're on a budget. The resort boasts many ammenities but beware, they will charge for the basics ( beach lounger, chairs, umbrellas etc...) While other hotels include all these features for free. To make matters worse, posted signs restrict guests from carrying coolers across resort grounds. So then, how do you take your own refreshments to the beach? Ah, there's the rub... they prefer you purchase overpriced refreshmements. Not budget friendly.

Nice long Weekend
This is our 2nd visit.. I first took my family there for my wife bday in July, we liked it so much that we returned just last week.. Rooms are super clean, roomy, and the hotel is very family friendly. I recommend staying in either the Florida wing, Watkins building or the pent house building or else you will have a long walk to the pool. Which is one of the things the hotel needs, more pools, currently they have only two, 1 family and 1 adult which i don't see it being enough for an about 6 building hotel.
