Great Naples getaway

The best things were the pool area and lazy river and towel service, proximity to area dining and night life, nice large rooms, fantastic balcony with canal view, concierge services, great cleaning services, fantastic kitchen to cook some meals and shuttle service in a Cadillac Escalade to pick us up from a birthday night out! The carpet was dirty (stained), but overall the rooms were extremely clean, nicely furnished, appliances were up to date and kitchen well-stocked for cooking-paper towels and dishwasher soap replaced daily. We had to walk to pool, but it was not bad for us - the cottages are closest to the pool - hotel rooms are across the street. The concierge arranged to have a cake and some goodies in the room for my husband's birthday - that was a nice treat! The front desk staff was competent and helpful, but didn't give the feeling that a 5 star hotel staff would. Pool staff, valets and concierge were top notch. Lack of communication between front desk and dining area, but we only ate there once - some confusion about the need for reservations for easter bruch, which was delicious. Very nice exercise room in the clubhouse. Did not use any spa services this trip, but they were available. Boat and bike rental available on property which was a huge plus. Kids programs available but my 11 & 15 year old decided they were too old - nice if your kids are younger. We would stay there again, but would prefer the cottages.

MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT, WAY OVERPRICED

Read between the lines as far as the web description. "Short stroll" to the beach is a mile and half. Mile to the nice restaurants and shops. Most of the walk is along a busy ten lane highway. There is a shuttle, but it runs intermittently. Most of the time we were told it was unavailable. "Water view" is of a small marina with some boats. The hotel itself has no fitness center and a pool that is about 16 x 16 feet at best. The "resort" next door has the fitness center, lazy river, etc. but again you have to walk or shuttle there. The staff were nice, I just think I was misled into thinking this is a luxury place, which it is not. I have stayed in nicer Hampton Inns, where at least you get free breakfast. Breakfast here is $15 and is the same as a Hampton Inn. Do yourself a favor, save lots of money and either take a cruise (cheaper) or stay at the Fairfield Inn across the street for about one third of the cost, and get free breakfast! Naples itself and the beach are lovely, and had some great meals.

Return trip to Naples

This was our second time in Naples and we liked the location of the Naples Bay Resort. For the activities we did (Everglades, Marco Island, Chokoloskee Island, and Beach time) this hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk to restaurants and the cruise line for a sunset sightseeing tour. There was a wonderful quiet pool that was close to our room and away from the larger noiser/busier/farther pool. Really need to have a car to access other than close restaurants. Balcony on the canal was wonderful, room very clean, large bathroom. Would liked to have been told upon check-in that there were chairs and umbrella available for the beach as we did not ask until later. While our room was just one floor above and open lobby we heard very little to no noise. Friendly staff.

Great place to stay

We had a wonderful time. The location was perfect for a nice walk to dinner or breakfast, and shopping. The hotel is very elegant and such beautiful views. The really nice pool is a bit of a walk to the other facility, but once you get there, it's gorgeous and the staff at the pool were very prompt and friendly.
