Good spot

We stayed on each end of our trip with a layover in Miami. It's not fancy, but it was definitely clean and functional. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was nice and newly remodeled. We did have to "sign out" additional towels & pillows. Breakfast wasn't amazing - all carbs, could use some fruit or other options besides just waffles & toast. However there's a 24hr McDonald's next door so that worked fine for us. The shuttle only leaves on the hour, and I think typically only makes one swing through the airport an hour too, but we called and they came right over to get us. We definitely would stay there again - the price was great and it was very convenient.

Airways is a fine jumping off point

I read some absolutely terrible reviews of Airways Inn & Suites, but I must say, I didn't see any of that. Perhaps it is a matter of renovated rooms v. not renovated, but the room my wife and I had as a jumping off point in a trip ti St. Lucia was just fine. PROS: Room looked and felt brand new, nice LCD TV, squeaky clean and larger than I expected. Very comfy king bed and good wi-fi. A sports bar & grill on premises, McDonald's right next door. Friendly and helpful staff, with a nice looking pool (didn't use). Full size ironing board and new iron. CONS: Very long walk to our room and no elevator for second floor accommodations. Sports bar didn't look very inviting for older folks. No on-call shuttle. It arrives at MIA at 10 minutes after the hour. If you arrive 15 minutes after, you will wait an hour for the next one. NOTE: MIA does not have a dedicated hotel shuttle lane or marshalling area. You have to keep vigilant watch for your shuttle and flag it down.

Count your towels

Overall the hotel was nice. It was decently clean the staff had average friendliness. The hotel is attached to a bar. Got home from my trip and found out my card was charged. I was told that we took a floor towel. Housekeeping reported it missing it was never in the room to begin with. Just make sure u count everything and tell them what is in the room as soon as you get in since they won't refund for their error.

Fair, ok price, good location

Worked ok for our overnight visit.. Big rooms, but no elevator. Had to carry luggage upstairs, not good after our long travels. The continental breakfast only had bread for toast, bagels, and waffles. They needed fruit, maybe cereal and yogurt.

Budget Friendly & Close to the Airport

We booked late as a result of a flight change. The free airport shuttle bus runs at the top of every hour and took less time traveling between than waiting for other guests to check in. There's an outdoor pool and a pub, both were closed when we arrived. The room, while large, clean, and well furnished bore some signs of the recent renovation including the smell of fresh paint, a loose outlet socket, and a shower soap tray that fell off. Overall, it's a perfectly acceptable, budget value and you will have the things you need and more for a short stay on the cheap. You will not mistake it for a resort however and you will see a couple things that are mildly surprising, cables running along exterior walls without conduit for example. Just have the right expectations going in and you'll do just fine, with waffles, juice, and coffee in the morning on top of it.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Free airport van runs 24 hours per day at the top of the hour and takes 5-10 minutes.
