Manhattan polish at this hotel in the center of South Beach
This beach front oasis infuses scene, food and fashion into the heart of South Beach. The people-watching cannot be helped -- whether guests are unwinding in the cabanas at Rooftop Pool, or enjoying specialty cocktails and rib steak at slick steakhouse STK. Even the private spaces 340 guest rooms feel like magazine shoots. The rooms have balconies overlooking the city, bay or Atlantic Ocean.

Deal with construction
The Gansevoort, now the Perry is where my friend's and I stayed this past weekend. I received a deal while booking due to the construction going on in the hotel. It was not really a bother as they did not construct on the weekends, howeber the balcony & and rooftop pool were both unaccessible during this time which was a bummer. Overall it is a very ice hotel, but I would probaby not stay there during their construction...but would love to when they are finished.

Nice Place Undergoing Renovation
Stayed here last year when it went by another name, and had a good experience, so decided to give it another try. It is currently undergoing renovation, and I would not recommend staying here until it is finished. Jackhammering from 9-5 weekdays, and the rooftop bar and pool are both closed. If you are offsite during the week, or down by the beach it is an ok place to stay at. Very convenient location.

worst experience ever
Booked because I wanted the best. It was suppose to be 5 stars. I was willing to spend whatever it took to have the best. I was suppose to have full ocean view. My view was of construction and trees. When I asked to be switched to a room with a view I was told that if I could go on the balcony I would be able to see the ocean. Then I was told there was no other rooms. They said the rest of the rooms were residential, and this is a monday. I would hate to see a weekend. After trying to deal with the worst start to a vacation ever, I decide to only stay for one night seeing it is already 2a.m. Can it get worse oh yes, 8a.m. jackhammers right on top of my room. Will they do anything.......no, but they did offer earplugs. How about my money back or a discount, no. Worst hotel ever, can't believe this site even allows this hotel on there site not to mention 5 stars, what a joke. The evening staff was very kind but the daytime staff was beyond unhelpful.

Beautiful Hotel, Bad construction notification
The hotel was beautiful and all the hotel staff were more than accommodating! The only complaint that I have was the construction going on Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm on the balconies of the rooms and we didn't get notification of this until we were checking in. Basically when we didn't have a choice to back out. This was my honeymoon! Word to the wise, make sure that there is no construction going on at any Miami beach hotel prior to booking!

Great Staff Hotel Sucks
Everyone is great that works there from the Valet, Doorman, Bellman, Desk, and Bar. Hotel is a dump. Even though they are remodeling it will never be a 5 Star Hotel. The remodel workers were on time and were hammering at 8AM. No problem if you were golfing at the time but if you had your party on...nothing but pain. The roof pool is like all the rest now a days. Wait a year or so at a minimum until remodel is done. VERY OVERPRICED!!

The hotel have terrible construction going on in the whole aria. 3 guys was drilling my balcony. I couldn't hear even my boyfriend talking to me. So we changed the hotel next day. But experience was awful..... Don't recommend to anyone. Go to Club shore hotel. Wonderful stuff beautiful hotel!

Construction nightmare - beware!
The noise from the construction is unbearable. Literally jackhammering on the ceiling of the rooms. Staff: "that's the way all the rooms are". When you show up, they have you sign a piece of paper acknowledging that there is noise. When you get to your room, you can't have a conversation with a person 2 feet from you. If I could, I would attach a video with sound for you to hear. I wouldn't stay here if it were free. Don't be fooled by the obvious fake reviews on here...the construction is absurd and the staff can't do anything about it (or wont). Be warned - you will kick yourself for deciding to stay here. Or you will simply do what we did - just left. (of course, they did not offer a full refund. Total time spent in the hotel: 2 hours - one of which was the back and forth with the hotel explaining how unacceptable the noise was. They simply didn't care. Unfortunate but true.

Renovations!
Due to renovations, there was a lot of construction noises even on the weekends. Other than the construction noise, there was a good amount of noise from the room, eg. toilet running, noise before the AC kicked in, whistling from the window from the wind outside. Since the scaffolding was blocking the satellite there was only local channels on TV. I loved the rooftop pool and they give you free lounge chairs on the beach for free Monday-Friday. Happy Hour was great at the regular pool area 4-6 buy one get one free of the same drink. Louis Bar is closed though, but the rooftop is opened at night. The shark tank is really beautiful. They did have a discount on rooms during construction I would not have stayed there if there wasn't.
