The selling point of the hotel is its location..it is a few blocks away from the craziness of the center of Ocean Drive, but close enough to all of the good restuarants and right across from the beach. We went with a 12 month old, so the kitchenette feature came in handy. The room was basic but neat and spacious. Front desk was helpful in recommending places to eat and even lent us a beach umbrella saving us a rental charge. No room service or restaurant in the hotel, but didn't matter, plenty to eat on the strip. Highly recommend.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try Espanola Way, a charming block filled with great restuaturants (Cuban,Meditteranean, Italian, Mexican, etc) around the corner and intersects with Collins Ave. Closed off to vehicle traffic, so you can stroll around until you find what you want to eat.

Affordable, comfortable, simple
The hotel isn't much to look at from outside. Not allowed to check in until 4pm, which is late. Hotel held our luggage behind a curtain up front. Room was big for the price. Ice maker in fridge took a day to form enough ice to use. bed was good, the throw pillow had stains on it. Overall the room was good. The only bad thing i experienced was the last night i woke up around 2am, went to the washroom and there was a huge cockroach on the jacuzzi...it ran when the light came on and crawled into a hole under the jacuzzi. The hotel desk knew very little about miami, not a huge deal, but overall they seemed to not really care about helping out guests. The location of the hotel is good, toward the quieter end of ocean drive. There is a walgreens about 3 blocks up on collins but we discovered a small convenience store at 14th and washington that had everything you need for much cheaper. For example, a 12 pack of corona at walgreen was $18 and at the convenience store it was $13. Sunblock at walgreens was $13, at convenience store $6. If you like mexican food, go to "O mexico" on espanola way. Its only 3 blocks from this hotel. They have the best tres leches cake i've ever had, trust me, you will be impressed. Their food was also excellent and tasted home made. Planet sushi was excellent. Le Sandwicherie on 14th and washington was delicious and fresh. A couple could share 1 sub for 7 bucks and be fine for lunch. The beach area directly in front of cresent seemed slower in terms of people. If you want more action, head to the beach and make a right on the sand till you find your spot. Tip-if you plan on walking down ocean to get somewhere, walk down the beach. it is a lot faster and there is a breeze so you won't get as hot. You will sweat unbearably there so any little bit helps. Do not eat at jerry's deli, it is expensive and the food is bland. If you want deli, see my suggestion above. Also, gratuity is included at all restaurants on ocean drive(17%) so be wary at the constant sales pitches by the people on the sidewalks trying to get you to eat there. They'll say 2 for 1 drinks, but the drinks are usually about 25-30 bucks for one. Head to espanola way and lincoln to experience what the locals know to be the best. Another thing i saw when sitting in the lobby was disturbing. The maid brought a stack of freshly washed yellow beach towels to the front desk. The lady at the front desk took them and put them behind the desk as customary. A young lady came down to the front desk about ten minutes after that and asked for a beach towel and the front desk lady claimed to not have any available because they were all being washed! She was clearly lying because I saw a fresh delivery...why she did this, I do not know. Maybe the hotel trys to secretly limit how many beach towels they give out. Finally, i have been to miami many times over the past several years. One thing i have noticed is that the place has been getting increasingly popular with 'ghetto' people. I dont know what hotels these people stay at, but they tend to flock in groups on ocean drive and collins. They really take away from the miami flavor and ambiance. They walk around with their pants down on their knees, talk way too loudly, and use profanities in public around families with small children. Overall they are disrespectful and offer nothing to this area. One night there, about 11:40pm, a group of 4 young men were walking down collins and as they passed me two of the men in the group began arguing with each other which eventually led to a shoving match on street. This is just ugly and miami needs to take its own steps to rid the area of these unwanted guests.

Wonderful Weekend
Great Hotel and Location!!!!!!
I really enjoyed my stay here, and so did my friends. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the suites are so spacious... the kitchenette was fully loaded... I will stay here again. The location was great, we were across from the beach, and three blocks from Lincoln Road shopping area, and about three blocks from The Cleavlander Hotel. The Cleavlander is the place to be... for food, drinks, mingling, music etc... LOVED IT.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Stay away from Sobe Live club on Washington. What a waste of time. They allow the women to get in free before 12, and three free watered down drinks. By 2AM....there's only females in the club. This might be good for men... but not for women. They make you stand in the line for atleast 1 hour before letting people in even if your on the guest list. Save some money and trouble go to The Cleavlander.... great crowd, good drinks, great food and it's only about three blocks from The Crescent Hotel on Ocean. Wet Willies is not all it's cracked up to be... better drinks at The Cleavlander. I also recommend having breakfast at the Front Porch next to The Crescent, great food.

The Best Location for South Beach
My second stay and I plan to return soon. Our five day Christmas visit was made perfect by parking the car and walking all over the South Beach area from Best Buy on 5th street to pick up an extra Christmas gift to a night time stroll on Lincoln Rd. for ice cream enjoying the street entertainment and holiday lights. My husband even had a cell phone issue and bought a new phone a few blocks from the hotel. We cooked breakfast each morning, eventhough there is an excellent spot next door. Markets are two blocks down 14th. One in particular serves Cuban coffee. Remember to walk west to the end of Ocean Drive to Sunrise Park. It's a great place for ocean views. If the timing is right you'll see cruise ships leaving port. I saw a few at dusk lit up like a floating jewel. Oh, almost forgot....catch the sun coming up from the roof top. Say hello to [...] & [...],they are so helpful. Can't wait to get back to The Crescent. The international flair and diversity are what I especially enjoy about South Beach. jewel.

Take advantage of the kitchenette. Markets are two blocks away off of 14th street. You will also pass a cuban sandwich/smoothie cafe and a great spot for burritos next door.

Lovely place and location. Our
Lovely place and location. Our only problem was that because check-in wasn't until 4.00 pm and there was no room on Ocean Drive to park the car, we parked just behind on a busy pay and display car park (in front of the Days Inn, Miami Beach), leaving the car for less than 30 minutes, in which time it was broken into and our belongings stolen. Please be aware of the high crime rate in this city, even though it may appear safe. We then lost a couple of days arranging emergency passport and spare keys etc. If this warning saves one person going through the ordeal that we did, then it is worth it!

Feels like home!!
This hotel was in a great location on Miami beach. It was right in front of the beach. It was midpoint between Lincoln Rd where there were some awesome restaurants and Nikki Beach which is a great place to chill by the beach and eat all day. The rooms are very spacious and they include a full kitchen so we'd buy some groceries from the Walgreen and store snacks in the fridge. The staff was helpful and very friendly.
