Good price, good location.
We were in Miami Beach for one to see a concert. Never have been to the are before so I was not sure what to expect. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The building itself is quite old as are most in the area. The San Juan had what we were looking for, two double beds and a shower. We were only looking for a place to sleep and clean up so were werent expecting the Ritz Carlton. The room was clean and the beds were clean. The furniture is older, but it looks like they may be remodeling. The bathroom was a complete shock. Picture a 1920's or so building/room with plaster walls (in good shape though) and a bathroom from the Ritz! New tile from floor to ceiling, new fixtures, new toilet, nice bowl style sink, tiled shower with nice glass doors! An amazing bathroom! haha.. If they romodel the rooms to match the place will defintely get 4-5 stars!!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
After the show we stopped for a drink and then were looking for some late night food. Ran across a small hidden place called "T-Mex". A patron outside said this was "THE" place to eat in the area and he wasnt wrong!! The tacos and burritos were magnificant!! I would make a trip back down just to eat there! The service was prompt and delightful to boot. It is a smaller place that most may consider a "hole in the wall".. But those usually have the best food! They are located on 14th just down from Collins.

A reasonable, though somewhat
A reasonable, though somewhat dated hotel in a great location at Miami Beach. Staff were friendly and attentive, though the hotel desperately needs modernising inside. The art deco exterior is timeless!

Birthday Getaway
The hotel was nice but the only thing I didnt like was how the cleaning lady was banging on the door next to mine and screaming papa early in the morning when my friend and I were trying to sleep in peace. They should consider limiting the amount of noise that they make. The price was very good for the hotel room that I stayed in and I loved that I only had to pay $30 to do late check-out which allowed me to check-out at 5:00.

The "joys" of San Juan Hotel
the location was great being it was near the main strip. However, there was construction being done at 7 am.. and while trying to sleep you can hear drillin for hours. i'd swear the maids vacuumed each room for 6 hours, because we heard continuous vacuuming throughout the day. the air conditiong was on full blast which led one of us to get a nasal infection... we could not control the room temperature. we then called the front desk to ask about their wi-fi connection... they in turn asked us for $7.00 per night to use it... i was under the assumption wi-fi was free world wide? there were no cable tv channels, the shower head shot out more of a mist than an actual stream of water... we had to flush the toilet two consecutive times in order for it to actually flush. the pool area consisted of a small pool and 4 lounge chairs.. which were all hudled against a wall. we never even went in it. i think thats about it....

thumbs up hotel!
the hotel is in great location, just across the street from the beach, bus stop, cafes, restaurants and shopping of any kind. the stuff was VERY friendly, helpfull and polite- any question you have will be answered. the room was very clean and cosy with microwave, refrigerator, TVset, safe, iron and ironing board- everything you need. the towels were changed and the bed was made every day. nobody was bothering us at all.

perfect location,good service,low price
We really enjoyed our stay at the San Juan Hotel. It was in a great location, near shops, restaurants, and especially close to the beach, only one block away. there was a stove instead of a microwave in our room, which was listed as a possibility when booking, but we would have liked a microwave instead since we didn't bring any pots or pans or food to cook. the fridge was a great size for the room to fit milk, juices, eggs, etc..the staff was really friendly. the front desk even gave us passes to a club nearby, when requested. the hotel was located in a spot that was easy to catch a cab (which were also affordable). the hotel was close to a chase, bank of america, and various other banks and atms which was a plus. it was also close to a 24 hour walgreens and a cvs which made it easy for us to run and buy last minute things. the hotel was located in between two abandoned buildings that didn't make much for a view. the hotel was well air conditioned and the pool was a good size. we did have to say to the front desk that the pool needed to be cleaned because there was a little bit of gunk floating in a corner, and it was cleaned that evening and sparkling the next day which was lovey. compared to other trips that i have taken, this was perfect for what we wanted, whihc was to stay in a descent hotel, with friendly staff and service.
