Royal Palm Tower

I was aware of construction at the hotel when I booked this trip through this site. But now I find out directly from the hotel's website (posted after I already booked the trip), that the pool and gym are closed, and there will be no food/beverages available anywhere on the property. Now I'm stuck with a trip that I will not enjoy due to fees imposed if I change reservations. The hotel is also still charging a mandatory resort fee for no pool/food/drinks, which I don't get. Nice!! I will never book a trip with this site again! Buyer beware!

Very clean, hotel staff was nice and accomodating though the security staff was very rude when I tried to find something in the lost and found. Pool very small but direct beach access made that unnoticeable. Not many amenties and a bit pricy from that point of view. But location is great! right next to both ocean drive and lincoln street.

I went there for a conference which was held in shore crest tower. The ocean view rooms are spectacular, and well appointed. We stayed in the "other" tower which was under construction, as was the gym. Other than the periodic drilling, the room is spacious and the bathroom had a nice tub. It is a good value for the money, but it is lacking something that some of the other south beach ocean front hotels have. If you aren't looking for a super posh place, this hotel has a great location and the views are great.

Despite a few issues I loved staying here and the amenities and would go again. The few issues: (1) housecleaning oddly missed us one day and almost did other days, coming at 5 pm. Totally odd for even a cheap motel, and unfathomable for a major resort. (2) The bathroom doors don't exactly close. They slide to be within two inches of being closed and that's it. No lock. Some people won't even notice this, but it was deeply disturbing for me. (3) Charging a separate "resort fee" is a bit ridiculous. It's not optional, so just fold it into the price. We knew about it before going and were fine with it. It just seems unprofessional to separate it out and for what? To appear cheaper than you are? Not ok. All that said you can't beat the location and the service on the beach was good. Also many rooms, including ours, recently renovated and tres chic (except for aforementioned bathroom door issue). It's about to be folded into a large chain and I expect service issues will probably improve

Arrived early - 9AM. Couldn't check in until 3:45. Desk receptionist was unsympathetic and didn't try to help. Workout facility a joke... 1/3 treadmills worked. Staff wouldn't allow me to print a boarding pass on their computer. They instead pointed me to the lobby 'pay per minute' computer, which didn't work when I tried it.

The worst hotel experience ever. The airconditioner did not work,no trash can no ice bucket ,no ice machine, no alarm clock, notv guide. long waits for the elevator.The only good part was the staff

I stayed in an ocean view room with a so called balcony Pros: -Location and the beach ----------- It's right on the beach. Walk to the back of the hotel, pass the pool and there's a short path to the sand. There are chairs and umbrellas on the beach which are covered from the daily resort fee. You can order food and drinks on the beach. -Newly renovated room and room service. Yes they have room service till 11pm. Nice new shower and bathroom sink. New hdtv, i think about 42". Cons: -Room seemed lacking. This was a newly renovated room but there were no chairs, just a small seating area along the wall behind the table. Look around and there's no clock radio, no safe, no welcome kit, no pen or paper, no ice bucket or glasses, no garbage pail except for the one in the bathroom . no iron or ironing board(called and got that thank god). No coffee machine or fridge. No sheer curtains, only a set of heavy curtains. The bed and bed linens were not very comfortalbe. The advertised wifi did not reach the room and there wasn't what I would call a workstation or desk in the room as stated in the room description. - Very poor sound proofing. Be prepared to hear doors closing loudly due to the strong spring back on the rooms front doors. I was woken up at least 3 times a night from LOUD slamming of HEAVY doors. -Major design flaw. The bathroom which is literally about 3 feet away from the bed and has a unique door. It slides on a rail and covers the bathroom entrance. There is no type of seal and there's no exhaust fan! Looks nice but highly impractical. No real sense of privacy if you need it, so stay away from certain types of food. -Balcony One thing I feel I must have when I'm at a hotel on the beach is a balcony with an ocean view. This room had it but it was the least practical balcony possible . Basically its 2 feet to the edge and 15 feet long. No chairs or small table just a ledge with a concrete rail. Not romantic for sure. Oh one last thing. The air conditoner stopped working the last night we were there. Overall we definitely did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. The best part was easily the beach , but for the price I excepted much , much more from the room.

I think this hotel is in a wonderful location and has a very nice staff. It is undergoing renovation so the pool area is not up to par yet. I'm sure it will be very nice when they are done fixing it up.

zurzeit werden die letzen Zimmer renoviert. Das hat uns an unserem Aufenthalt nicht einmal gestört. Sehr zurückhaltend. Ganz tolle Lage direkt am Beach und im SoBe umgeben von unzähligen Shops und Restaurants. Schade, dass ab späterem Nachmittag keine Sonne mehr am Pool ist, dafür hat man dann Zeit zum Shoppen ...
