great location, but mediocre hotel

We selected this hotel because it is right at the beach, which was really nice, except that in this area the high hotels obstruct the sun in the afternoon. So better get in your sunbathing in the morning and early afternoon.:) At the pool the sun is gone even earlier. The pool area and beach are nice though - you can rent sun beds and umbrellas at the beach, while at the pool they are free. With the room (and resort fee, calculate that into your total cost) comes free towel rental, although they ran out of dry towels one of the days we were there. The hotel is older, rooms are run down and need repair. If you like to sleep, pick a different hotel - we were kept awake two nights in a row by really loud shouting in the hallway at around 11:30 p.m. I looked outside and it turned out that it was hotel staff (!), who were shouting about some (non-emergency) maintenance issue. In the morning the maids were as loud:( One other issue this hotel has is elevators - it usually took about 10 minutes to catch one that was not full from our floor or to stand in line on the ground level to get on the elevator. Don't get tempted by the convenient restaurant in the hotel - It is overpriced and not very good. There is a little cafe just up the street, which has good food. (Cafe Aroma, 150 Sunny Isles Blvd)

Average wannabe resort

Mediocre at best. Look out for miss leading charges and information. Also, they host a sketchy membership office that will do their best to trap you into joining. The driveway is oddly set up causing you to pass the entrance before you turn in. Nice view of the ocean but that's really it.

Terrible!

Our check in was at 3pm and the room wasn't ready. At 4pm they got us another room and told us it was an upgrade. It was on a floor that was being remodeled, workers everywhere making a lot of noise and the key card didn't work. Return to the front desk and they got us another room around 5pm. The carpet in the room was dirty and noticed some blood stains on the curtains. Would not recommend!

Rooms are ok, staff is friendly, the beach is nice with bar, overall we had a nice stay. as a tip, get a room with balcony. the ones without balcony are not so great (you can not even open a window to dry your swimsuit)

pretty nice hotel for the money you pay

The best advantage of this hotel is the fact that it has his own private beach at walking distance, which is really nice. The rooms are ok, nothing special, staff was friendly, although the lines at check in and check out are pretty big.Coming from Chicago, i was a little bit surprised that you have to pay for everything here, there is some kind of a resort fee for every day spend there, parking is 20 dollars every day, even the umbrellas on the beach are 15 dollars a day...But the whole experience was good, i recommend this hotel, but i am the kind of guy that can't stay in the same hotel two times, i need to see other places also, so if i decide to go back to Miami, i would probably go in another hotel.

Perfect for two

When we arrived the wait to get checked in, was a bit long but once we got checked in and went to our room- things started to look up. The view was amazing & the bed was just to die for. The pool was perfect to relax on after a nice long day at the beach. Would most definitely visit this place again.

Please please if you go here make sure and visit Basil Park, it's super close to the hotel. They are organic & if you are a healthy nut like my husband and I- that would be the best place to dine.
