The hotel was once a playground for stars such as Sammie Davis Jr. and Tina Turner. The hotel captures the Florida fantasy with access to water sports and a beachfront playground. When guests aren't wading in the pool, they're relaxing in the spa or in their colorful rooms, many with sweeping views of the water.

A Jacuzzi tub, coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator are standard amenities. One- and two-bedroom suites boast two televisions. Wireless and high-speed Internet access is free.

Features

The tropical setting at Newport Beachside Resort appeals to couples on a romantic getaway, families on a summer vacation or business people staying in the area. At guests' request, the hotel can arrange boat charters, jet skiing and kayaking (fees apply). Kitchen 305 is an all-day restaurant featuring a breakfast buffet and a la carte options. The on-site restaurant treats diners to a chic setting and a seafood- and meat-driven menu.

Hit and Miss

* the parking for disabled is across the street - doesn't that defeat the purpose?* the rooms don't get cleaned thoroughly; the tub still had hair.* maybe it was just our "luck", but 2 neighboring rooms were just partying until 3 in the morning.* some staff members tell you one thing and then something else - first parking was free for persons with disabilities; then they said it cost $10.* [...] listed the resort fee as $10 daily; when we arrived they said it was $12* the location is close to all major freeways.

Almost a great place!

Staff unfriendly, not very helpful, and allow you to stand there instead of asking can they help! The only ones that would speak and show hospitality is the valet and baggage guys, and the bar staff. Exercise equipment not maintenance or checked even after calling and reporting. several machines unplug so couldn't keep track of time, no instructions on operating tv's. I was not inform before getting there of all the extra charges such as parking, and daily fees and taxes!

Not bad...

The hotel was just far from everything! South beach is far and the metrozoo is impossible to get to. If you don't have a car, then don't stay here. The location is the bad part.

It's cheap that is it!

The location is great, so is the lobby, the employees, and the beach. The A/C sounds like a tractor, the rooms have not seen any updating since, 1980... All in all, it is still a good place to stay because it is way cheaper than anything else around!

Good Hotel.

Hotel is good, great beach, but 15$ a day parking fee, if you park at the hotel, and 11,30$ a day resort fees and room tax, were unexpected expenses.
