Location was great staff not so much

I would definitely go back to the Newport resort, the rooms were great but the front desk staff was not so great. Our first room was next to the pool and bar so it was very noisy, the staff agreed to change our room the following day but it was not ready until the early evening. The second room balcony door was broken and we called for service several times but it was never fixed. There was also no parking one day but they let us valet free of charge. All in all it was worth it because it was newly remodeled and affordable but there was a few issues we were not happy about as I mentioned before.

Newport

This time around was like my last time I visited newport beachside resort. Staff was not too helpful untill I spoke to the supervisor and management of the front desk. I had to call the front desk numerous amount of times to have my toilet fixed it kept on breaking and my front door access to my room kept on breaking. This led me to visit the front desk more than I anticipated on seeing them. The room was descent, the view was pretty awesome, just another average stay at newport and they really need to fix or repair the issues that I have mentioned.

Spring Break getaway

The staff at this hotel was very nice and very accommodating. They allowed me to check in early altho check in time isn't until 3pm ... this worked out perfectly as I was tired from a red eye flight and the early check-in really allowed me to rest up to enjoy my day. The room itself was a little old. It wasn't as nice as I had hoped, however the view from the room was very beautiful. The amenities were great. I really enjoyed the pool and the beach access. Kitchen 305 was very tasty and I enjoyed the lounge like feel it had to it.

Pleasantly Surprised!

We just returned from a three night stay at this resort. We booked back in January for a fantastic rate (less than $100.00 per night). After I booked this resort online, I spent weeks scouring the internet for reviews, and after reading hundreds of opinions, sadly informed my husband that I thought I'd booked us into some type of flophouse. To be honest, I had terrible expectations. I read horror stories of moldy floors, horrible service, stained sheets, rude hotel staff, overbooked rooms, etc. Imagine my surprise upon arrival when the check-in clerk smiled and was friendly, our room was clean (certainly not, "Trump-level five star," but not one of the hovels I kept reading about), and there was rarely a wait for the elevators! Granted, I was there with my husband and two little boys, so we weren't after high-class, South Beach style party/club type accommodations, but this place was absolutely perfect for the low-key family getaway we were were looking for. I'm not a super-picky traveler, but I can't tolerate bad smells or unsanitary conditions, and our room was right on par with any mid-price chain-hotel. We stayed Tuesday through Friday, and there were no crowds and no lines anywhere on the premises. We'd booked a standard city-view suite through a travel site, and upon arrival, were given a corner, one-bedroom city view suite, which had big windows in both the sitting room and the bedroom. A huge plus was that because of the layout of the room, we didn't have to worry about noise because our bathroom and the sitting room boxed the bedroom in on both sides--a HUGE plus!! On top of everything else, I'm pretty certain that our room was NOT one of the updated/renovated rooms, so yes, it was a little drab but COME ON--if you want a boutique hotel, then book one for $600.00 a night! I also read many complaints about the fact that the staff only speaks Spanish...and yes, there was a lot of Spanish going on, but we found it really cool--almost like vacationing internationally without having to use our passports. We were able to eat reasonably at several restaurants within walking distance, and ate one nice meal at the hotel's Kitchen 305, which had a neat club vibe and live jazz music. My three and five year-old boys loved the pool, and the ocean was gorgeous, warm and calm, even in April! We found this place a good, safe value for the money, and we would definitely return to Newport Beachside Resort in the future.

this hotel is ok

When i first got to this hotel the lobby was beautiful and the location was great. The pool and beach were a few feet away from the hotel. The rooms were another story, do you guys know of the show miami vice?? well thats pretty much what the rooms looked like. 1970-1980 decor, very dated. Other than that i rented a car and was in south beach in less than 15 minutes.
