Weekend Getaway

The pool and the grounds are wonderful - extremely relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you stay a weekend or a week, the pool, service and beach are first class. The rooms are small but nice. The bed is great. We had a corner room on the street side and it was quiet at night. We were doing a show at the convention center and it was a short walk - very convenient. Lincoln Road is close with many restaurants. South Beach restaurants surround you. It is quiet and peaceful but close to whatever tickles your fancy. We would definitely go back. We did not eat at the hotel due to our schedule so we can't comment either way.

Great hotel, perfect location

The National is a real treasure. It combines Art Deco ambience with first-class service. The location is fantastic...close to the South Beach nightlife and right on the beach. The pool area is beautiful and both beach and poolside service are terrific (rates include towel service at the pool and towel service plus chairs and umbrellas at the beach). We had a standard city view room with a king-sized bed. Rooms in this hotel are small (owing to the fact that the hotel was built in 1939) but they are very nicely maintained. You get maid service twice a day (including turndown service). The bathroom in our room was getting a bit run-down but we had no specific complaints...everything was in good working order. The closet was large with a safe and extra shelving. We had a great view from our corner room. The front desk, concierge and valet were all friendly and eager to serve. No SoBe snootiness here. Bravo for the National!

Nice and excelent location

The National has the nicest pool in Miami Beach and nice beach. The service at pool and beach was excellent. Nice and appointed contemporary rooms with large walk-in closet and confort bed. Excelent location with access to ocean drive and lincoln st. It is one of the best hotels in Miami Beach and it is located next to others best hotels such as Delano, Ritz and Lowes.

Great Stay!

The service at the National was outstanding! The staff was great...the cabana room was amazing, and the 24 hour INFITIY pool was definately appreciated! The food was good, the pricing was way over-done...and the mandatory gratutity was over the top. (because I tip above tip) The high speed internet in the room wasnt so high speed, and most hotels of this calibur offer free computer and printer services in a business lounge. The bar in the patio was great... and everyone was so helpful! Oh..and it is literally feet away from the private beach!! I will definately be back!!

Very comfortable

The National Hotel is very convenient to Lincoln Road and is directly on the beach. The room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed with beautiful linens and a great mattress. The service was wonderful. The 2 pools are in a very nice setting with many chairs and excellent poolside service.

Nice Hotel

The National Hotel was a very nice hotel. The upkeep of the hotel lobby was impressing. The bed was very comfortable (almost too comfortable). The room was a nice size, with a walk in closet. However, the bathroom was small. The shower had half of a clear door, which you could not close. Also, it took a while for the water to warm up. House cleaning came to the room twice a day. Another thing we did not like was the hidden charges; we had to pay $30/day to valet the car. However, it was not bad b/c there was no where to park on the strip and the valet made sure to bring your car immediately. Also, there is a $13 charge per day on hotel amenities. I would not recommend getting the key to the mini bar in your room. We were charged $4.63 the last night & we did not even touch anything in the bar. Overall, I was impressed with the hotel, just be aware of those charges I mentioned. The location was nice as well, although it was a huge plus that we rented a car.
