THE WORSE EVER

Dirty room, VERY rude feminine male front desk assistant, told I could only get one key though 2 people were on reservation, very run down furniture, television lodged in an immobile position in the corner of the ceiling....This was all within 5 minutes of being there as I canceled my reservation and went to stay at the Whitelaw Hotel which was great!!

Horrible..false advertising

should be sued for false advertising...you do not walk thru a " gatehouse" You walk thru the back hallway of the LaFlora into back alley of restaurant with debris into back door of the Impala. Apparently they have had considerable water damage in lobby of Impala and this room..hard to open door to room( warped) and closet door warped ( no hangers in the closet???)..Room reeked of mildew,,had to put on A/C..a challenge when the temps were in the low 40's and they do not provide heat.Staff to pamper you? what staff? a guy at the desk?the cleaning lady in the am? Should I go on?? Thank goodness for the evening manager [...] who is the only good thing going for this property. He did everything he could to make other arrangements for me.

yuck!!!

This hotel is a dump. The room was ugly, depressing and smelled like my grandmothers basement. The first room they tried to give me was even worse. There were blood stains on the sheets. The lobby is actually in the hotel next door. You have to go through the service exit and walk across a dirty ally where they spray out the bus tubs from the italian restaurant to get to your room. Breakfast consists of a pitcher of 'orange juice' which I think is sunny d, a tray of stale bread, cold cuts of ham and swiss cheese and really weak coffee. For this they want to charge $6. The only positive thing I have to say is that the staff was very friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

$10 "resort" fee- Is no resort.

[...] Staff was pleasant, building was quiet and nicely located. I would have overlooked the filthy carpet and stained bed mattress and quietly never go back if not for being assaulted by the 10 dollar resort fee they took from my $50 deposit. Nice scam that. Plenty of others to choose from aviod these "prime" locations.

Wonderful!

The hotel was nice. Check-in staff was very friendly and amicable, jokingly asking us a few questions about our trip. There is an interconnection hallway between the two hotels which was kind of ominous but otherwise the room was superb. Huge bathroom. And the location right on Collins Ave allows quick access to all the highlights of South Beach. Def recommend.

Good value for location

We came down to spend a day at South Beach-went out to eat, and to the beach. It was a great location. A bit pricey, but that is what you expect when you are there.

Would consider staying there again

Never stayed there before. It was the biggest room I have stayed in bar far in South Beach. For that reason, I would consider staying there again. Also, the staff ([...] at the front desk) could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Got us into our room early, helped us to our rooms with luggage, valet. Too nice. The rooms are very rustic and Mediterranean- stone floors, furniture, etc. If you are looking for modern with flat screens, this isn't it. My only issue with the hotel is the bathroom. It is big but the shower had half a pane of glass and the water seemed to go everywhere. Also, there was no way to turn off the shower so you had to move quickly to turn the water on otherwise your head was wet. Also, the sick itself is TINY. The countertop was big with this little tiny sink and the faucet made no sense.Other than the issues with the bathroom, I would consider staying here again just because of the location, staff and size of the actual room and bathroom.

Quiet but close

The staff was very helpful in terms of giving us an idea of places to visit and good restaurants. The hotel was very quiet but still close to the beaches, restaurants, shopping. The rooms are not luxurious but had an interesting character, were clean and had all the basics.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

For great Cuban food with a local feel go to Puerto Sauga. Dont expect much in terms of ambiance but the food is terrific.
