Hotel Eva

The accommodations were comfortable enough, and the staff was courteous and helpful in various ways, but some of the guests' behavior left a little to be desired. Some would congregate in the passageway during the dinner hour until late evening with their doors open, leaning over the rails and sitting on door sills. Apparently, this was to smoke without being forced to abandon the sights and sounds of their TV sets and conversations with other occupants in their rooms. I would call this inappropriate lodging decorum, not to mention, a nuisance. Out in front, the people who ran the cafe constantly blocked the sidewalk entrance, attempting to thrust promotional literature into everyone's hand, even guests trying to return to their rooms - another big nuisance. These passageway-blocking cafe hawkers, and smokers with open doors - whenever encountered - turned the atmosphere a bit seedy at times.

location is perfect, near every thing in South Beach (walking distance), nothing else

The hotel location and room were amazing! It was spacious and clean and we had the best time! The only downside was they gave us a little bit of a hard time on Saturday night for having our music too loud which is kind of ridiculous since it was a Saturday night in South Beach but it might have been a fluke thing since people were staying there for the boat show and wanted to rest but I definitely didn't appreciate it. I would stay again though for sure.

1 block to beach and restaurants, helpful staff. The room is really spacious and has everything we needed.

The hotel is very close (about 5 min walk) to South beach and similar distance to Ocean Drive - the main beach road along South beach, with all the Art Deco hotels/ restaurants/bars and nightlife. The hotel is very good value for money and staff there were welcoming. It was good to be able to use the hotel's computer for searching for trips/ excursions etc online and printing for free. The room was v large - a bed big enough for 3 adults!! There was a fridge/freezer, sink and microwave so handy if you wanted to eat in the room. The tv was an old style and tv unit was dated. The deadlock on the door didn't seem to go completely in to lock fully but we tested it from outside, and it wasn't possible to open it so I felt secure. The air conditioning worked fine but was loud .. but then all the hotels I stayed in had loud a/c units (not used to these in the UK). There was a large wet room. Shower was good but there was not hook for the shower head so I had to hold it while showering. There was a separate room with a safe and iron and ironing board if you needed these. It would have been good to have coffee/tea making facilities though.

We chose Hotel Eva because it has a fridge and microwave. Although it was nothing fancy, the hotel served its purpose. Gave us a place to sleep, eat, drink and hang out. I would stay here again if I went back to Miami with the same intentions.

The elevator was not working and it seemed that it was not working for quite some time. There were no cups in the room. There was a full kitchenette with microwave - but no kitchenware. There wasn't even a mug to heat a cup of tea. The room was clean, and the location was excellent, just a few blocks from South Beach. Overall it was a good bargain. But next time I'll pay a few bucks more and get a hotel with a working elevator.

The elevator didn't work when I arrived. The Internet also didn't work when I was there. It will be better to call the hotel in advance to make sure they work before booking this hotel.

The elevator worked 20% of our 5 day stay. The first night we had to carry our bags to the third floor. There was no divider in the shower so the entire bathroom floor would flood. Despite a reservation for 3 people we only had towels for 2 and no washclothes. We didn't eat at the hotel because it was overpriced compared to other restaurants. The safe did not work. The ceiling/floor was very thin because we woke up to our neighbors stomping every morning. The staff was friendly.
