im so glad it was one night!

I stayed at Haddon Hall for one night bc the resort hotel i was going to be stayig at was not ready due to date issues, so i didnt mind staying somewhere else for just one night. Well im glad it was only one night because if i had to stay at that hotel for more then one night i would scream!!! Its a good size hotel with many rooms. The elevator is quite small as are the doors to the room. The room is an alright size although slightly scary. When we got to the room i turned the tv on and then found the remote which only had one battery (WTH?) so then i tried changing the channel on the tv but the channel buttons where missing. My boyfriend went to the hotel staff to get another battery, but they didnt have any!! I barely sat on the toilet and refused to take a shower there. The only good thing about the hotel was that it was very close to the place we were staying for the rest of the trip thank god and it was very cheap!

Damp, old, and dirty carpet

I almost wish my room was the worst they had, or else the whole place should be gut-rehabbed inside out. The carpet was filthy and the entire room sorely needed to be rehabbed. The bathroom seemed to have been remodeled recently, which was very nice, but the sink fixtures need a serious upgrade. The common areas have potential if only they got rid of the uncleanable furniture.

Don´t waste your money in the deli right outside - it´s grossly overpriced and the food isn´t any good. Venture out, there are many places around.

[*]

This Hotel is the worst I've at which I've ever stayed. [*]. The light was [*] scary. [*] In my room The furniture was the cheapest they could find. Chairs from some suburban outback corporate convention. A plastic table. The kitchenette cabinetry looked like it was hand built by some [*] in his back yard wood shop, again with the cheapest material. The dresser was a $12 thrift shop piece that some previous guests had scratched graffiti all over. The table lamp had better light thank god. But every time I lied down on the bed I was forced to look inside the shade and see that it was all rusted, ancient. The wall to wall carpet, yes, carpet, uggh. was extremely ugly and old. The room was so [*] scary when I first walked in I asked for another room. They gave me one another option I went to that room and it looked a little better however it had a lingering scent of [*] urine. I remained in the first room. I saw a couple of other rooms and they looked better than my room. So why the hell was I given that room. Ugggh. I get the feeling that the owners of this Hotel are TOTALLY LAZY. Simply trying to get over using their good location to turn a buck, invest as little as possible in the hotel, and don't give a [*] about the experience of their guests.

On ocean drive the restaurants that line the road are good. They are expensive but they are good. All the other restaurants in Miami are very hit or miss with mostly misses.

Not very nice at all

The hotel was outdated and our room had a funny smell. However for the price and if you would like to have a fridge, stove and some crockery to save money on meals while in Miami it would probably be OK. The location was pretty good although if you pay a little bit more then there are some other reasonable hotels on the beach. We did not extend our stay here and moved elsewhere. Parking was limited and not available so we had to find a garage but that was OK as there was one around the corner.

not recommended

This is an old, poorly maintained hotel staffed by arrogant, greedy individuals. Check in is a 3 pm, check out 11 am. No free parking, they ask $20 for parking. No internet, they ask $10 for WiFi. Rooms are run down, bedding should have been junked 5 years ago. Staff makes you feel really uncomfortable and unwanted there. All they care is money. The only good thing about it I found, it's 5 minute walk from the beach.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER

This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my whole life. I travel often, and I have stayed in many hostels that are all nicer and safer than this hotel. We should have listened to the reviews we read and stayed somewhere outside of Miami Beach. The first night, our room was robbed while we were sleeping. They took an iPhone, a Blackberry, Camera, Driver's License, Cash and my Debit card. They were charging sex hotline services to my card. We have no idea how they got into our room or why we didn't wake up. For 3 girls in there early twenties this is a very scary experience. One of our friends called in the morning and an African American man made up a story about how he was hanging out with us in our room, described what we were wearing and said some untrue and disturbing things before the phones were turned off. The hotel was extremely unhelpful. They simply told us we must not have closed our door and there was nothing they could do. It made us very suspicious that they were somehow involved in the situation and gave the strange man access to our room. On top of all of this the hotel smelled disgusting. There were stains on the carpet and the lights flickered when you switched them on. Doing our makeup at night was impossible because we could barely see. We originally booked a hotel by the airport that was brand new for $150 less a night. We booked this and cancelled that reservation because it was close to downtown, however we should have stuck to the original plan. If you are concerned about your personal safety and security do not stay here.

Room Opinion

The staff was not the friendliest until I spoke Spanish. On a positive note the woman at the desk did manage to tear herself away from her food and Spanish soap opera when I approached the desk. No smile but whatever! The room was depressing and definitely not worth the $112 I was charged for Fri. But it was Fri in South Beach. Over all the location was great. I found a room at the Carlton for Sat. VERY nice room! They really need to do something about the knobs on the sink. It took me 15 minutes (NO EXAGGERATION) to turn off the blasted water. Apparently it's normal for the knobs to turn completely around. Als I felt klike I was in an old creepy house with bad pipes. The person next door actually knocked on my door to see how long I was going to be in the shower because he could get the water to get hot. I was like ok wow. So that's why I heard the pipes knocking.
