Experienced South Beach Traveler
I visit South Beach once a year for the past 16 years and this time, we just needed a place to hang our hats for one short night before we left for the Keys. For example, I stayed to R&R for 3 days last summer and elected to go the 4-star route at Cardozo on the beach so I could feel in-the-mix. This is not what Haddon is for. This is an ok place if you will be out of the room most of the time, and don't mind the 5-10 block walk to the more-happening parts of the Beach or the cafes. It's a little more accessible to the clubs on Washington, though, if you were mainly concerned with easy access to get home after the bars/pizza. It's typical art deco but not super-updated in amenities so don't expect a great a/c in the summer months or nice bed linens. It does its job as a budget stay walking distance from the beach.

Short walk from hotel
If you have a car, just park it in the lot around the corner on 16th st and leave it. It was about $16 for the 24 hour period. Beats looking for parking and dealing with tickets.

We had an overall amazing stay at that Hadden, (one night) however the plumbing is quit old and outdated, making funny loud noise when you use the faciliaties. Other than that the Hotel was great, the location was awesome, and one could not have more bang for your buck. We stayed at the hotel because we went to see Masquerade Motel in South Beach.

Clean affordable room
After reading the other reviews, I was prepared for the worst but could not find anything else within my price range for a late March weekend getaway. The room was small and dated but clean and the bed was comfortable. It is a short walk to numerous restaurants, nightclubs, shopping, and the beach. Parking is limited but there is a garage only a block away for $16/night. While it would not be my first choice, I would definitely stay there again simply for the location and value.

Not as bad as people make it out to be
Yes it is an old and cheap hotel. The staff wasn't the nicest either. The rooms were old but what do you expect for the price. I was leary after reading the reviews but couldnt pass up the price and location. It was better than I expected. The location is AMAZING. you are right at the end of Ocean Drive and 1 block up. It took maybe 2 minutes from the front door to the beach. I would stay here again. If you want to see South Beach but not spend alot of money. This is your place.

Weekend get away
Good location but room was a downer! The bathroom was so small and the door got stuck and my girlfriend had to kick it in. It just needs a update. You can't ask for a better location for the money. Just don't shut the door to your bathroom!!!

What you pay for is what you get
Good location across the street from the beach and near Lincoln where the restaurants and shops are. Rooms are sub-par- carpeted, which smelt of mildew, old furniture, beds not the most comfortable. Overall the room is not luxurious, but you get what you pay for.

This is an old, poorly maintained hotel staffed by arrogant, greedy individuals. Check in is a 3 pm, check out 11 am. No free parking, they ask $20 for parking. No internet, they ask $10 for WiFi. Rooms are run down, bedding should have been junked 5 years ago. Staff makes you feel really uncomfortable and unwanted there. All they care is money. The only good thing about it I found, it's 5 minute walk from the beach.
