Hip boutique hotel near vibrant South Beach nightlife
This Washington Avenue hotel marks its entrance by a neon-lit sign. The bones may be Art Deco in flair, but the property identity is modern, ultra-cool South Beach. Minimalist spaces lean toward sleek furniture, peek-a-boo glass-enclosed spa tubs. The colors white and gray are everywhere. The hotel is boutique in size and feel and delivers amenities such as a free shuttle to Miami International Airport, an intimate spa and alfresco dining at X/O.
Rooms
The hotel's 88 rooms define boutique minimalism. Gray walls and settees complement stark white comforters to create a streamlined space without embellishment. Fresh-cut flowers lend softness to the rooms. Standard amenities include 300-count linens, bath robes, bath products and Wi-Fi access (covered in resort fee). Rooms either have balconies facing the pool or reflecting pool and fountain or they have glass-enclosed spa tubs and loft areas.
Highlights
- Boutique hotel in the center of South Beach
- X/O restaurant offering American and Mediterranean fare and outdoor dining
- Free shuttle to Miami International Airport on select days with 24-hour notice
Features
The minimalist interior design sets the stage for a hip getaway close to South Beach's major attractions, including Washington Avenue, Lincoln Road Mall and Ocean Drive. The beach is within walking distance. Guests can also lounge poolside in private cabanas with a cocktail from the bar. For cocktails and American and Mediterranean cuisine, guests mingle at the on-site X/O. The restaurant and lounge hosts a nightly happy hour between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Just Ok
As an avid traveller and occupant at many a hotel during my trips, this hotel left alot to be desired. While the balcony was spacious and the view decent here are a few general observations & what I considered to be cons: ā¢small elevator, if with alot of people or alot of luggage you will need to make more than one trip ā¢hallways are low lit almost dark (while I understand this is apart of the ambiance of the hotel it was a tad bit creepy) ā¢room was extremely small in comparison to many hotels-while the bathroom was oddly spacious

2 day Miami trip
Hotel wasn't good. I wouldn't stay again. No hot water In room and they didn't fix. Also air conditioning was broken so it was either running and ice cold or not running and hot.

Clinton--- subpar
I stayed in a balcony room overlooking the "pool". It was extremely loud as the restaurant blasts music all night and plays it early in the morning as well. The staff was very unorganized and the valet service was extremely slow.

Highly overated
This is not a 4 star hotel by any means. More like a 2.5 star hotel. Small room, not very clean. We had to ask for shower gel and toilet paper because the cleaning lady didn't replace them. The elevator barely works. Actually the label shows that it's licensed until the end of 2011. We stayed at this hotel in July 2012. Plus, some of the hotel advertisment is just false: "Standard amenities include 300-count linens, bath robes." Never saw any robes. "Rooms either have balconies facing the pool or reflecting pool and fountain or they have glass-enclosed spa tubs and loft areas." Our room didn't have either balcony or spa tub. The only good thing about this hotel is that it's very close to Ocean dr. and the night life. Next time we'll try a different hotel in the same area. For more than $1000 a week we can get a better hotel.

Clinton should be classier
I was disappointed in this hotel. I was expecting a little classier place. The hallways and ceilings were a bluish purple with low lighting. There were nude silhouettes of a man and women by the room numbers. It gave one a feeling of a singles type place. I know they were trying for the art deco feel but it ended up being tacky. The rooms were ok, bed was comfortable. We were unable to use the additional security lock on the door as it was not correctly installed. The bath had been updated with a large shower. It was clean although I noticed a strong bleach smell when we first entered the room. The location was great, 3 blocks from the beach. The airport shuttle was a plus. We did rent a car for 2 of the days and used the hotel valet. One day they brought the wrong vehicle to us. This also happened to a guest of ours who used the valet service as well. The front desk staff were kind.

Paper thin walls
I got to South Beach quite often.. about twice a year. I like to stay at different hotels to do some comparison. The Cliton was in a great location, hotel staff was GREAT!! Rooms were nice, bed was comfortable the only thing that was not to my satisfaction was that the walls were paper thin! To some, this may not be an issue, to others it will most definitely be an issue. If you do stay here, request the top floor if possible. It sounded like a herd of elephants above us. Other than that, the price was right and everything else was great.

It was an ok stay
I didn't like that the bathroom door would block the entrance of the room, but it was an ok place to stay. The room was small but big enough for two. The elevator was super small and I felt claustrophobic at times. Our room was right above the streets and it was noisy during late hours because you hear traffic and drunk people. Overall, it was ok.

It depends which way you go after leaving the hotel. There's shopping and good food either way you go. A lil expensive but good food and shopping.

not bad!
Hotel was nice. Great location. You can walk anywhere around south beach. Parking was absolutley ridiculous in south beach in general. It was crazy to have to pay $27/day for valet parking. The hotel has no parking. The pool was VERY small, but the pool area was nice. And the front desk staff was not the friendliest. I don't think I saw any of them ever smile the whole time I was there. But overall, I liked the hotel and would recommend it to a friend.
