Hip boutique beauty near South Beach nightlife with spa and restaurant
This Washington Avenue hotel marks its entrance by a neon-lit sign. The bones may be Art Deco in flair, but the property identity is modern, ultra-cool South Beach. Minimalist spaces lean toward sleek furniture, peek-a-boo glass-enclosed spa tubs. The colors white and gray are everywhere. The hotel is boutique in size and feel and delivers amenities such as a free shuttle to Miami International Airport, an intimate spa and alfresco dining at X/O.
Rooms
The hotel's 88 rooms define boutique minimalism. Gray walls and settees complement stark white comforters to create a streamlined space without embellishment. Fresh-cut flowers lend softness to the rooms. Standard amenities include 300-count linens, bath robes, bath products and Wi-Fi access (covered in resort fee). Rooms either have balconies facing the pool or reflecting pool and fountain or they have glass-enclosed spa tubs and loft areas.
Highlights
- Boutique hotel in the center of South Beach
- The Purple Room spa
- X/O restaurant offering American and Mediterranean fare and outdoor dining
- Free shuttle to Miami International Airport on select days with 24-hour notice
Features
The minimalist interior design sets the stage for a hip getaway close to South Beach's major attractions, including Washington Avenue, Lincoln Road Mall and Ocean Drive. The beach is within walking distance. Guests can also lounge poolside in private cabanas with a cocktail from the bar. The appropriately named Purple Room spa tends to beauty tune-ups with massages, facials, and body and nail treatments. For cocktails and American and Mediterranean cuisine, guests mingle at the on-site X/O. The restaurant and lounge hosts a nightly happy hour between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Great Location and Value!
This is the second stay at the hotel for my wife and I. We have enjoyed both stays. We selected the hotel primarily because of the location and cost. For a hotel which is two short blocks from the beach, in the middle of a score of bars and restaurants, it perfectly met our price point needs. Our room was very clean, and the cleaning staff was very prompt and understanding if we slept in a bit. TV and Internet worked perfectly. We initially thought the cool blue lighting was cheesy, we now appreciate it because it is very easy on the eyes! The only downside is that there's trucks in the service alley right behind the hotel that will wake you up in the morning. I would not say its a family place, as you're really in the middle of bars and tattoo shops. But your opinion may be different.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
We consider a mile a short walk. So, have a nice walk over to Espanola Way and stop at the Cafe Nuvo, we enjoyed the experience enough to eat there 3 nights of our stay.

Clinton--- subpar
I stayed in a balcony room overlooking the "pool". It was extremely loud as the restaurant blasts music all night and plays it early in the morning as well. The staff was very unorganized and the valet service was extremely slow.

Just Ok
As an avid traveller and occupant at many a hotel during my trips, this hotel left alot to be desired. While the balcony was spacious and the view decent here are a few general observations & what I considered to be cons: •small elevator, if with alot of people or alot of luggage you will need to make more than one trip •hallways are low lit almost dark (while I understand this is apart of the ambiance of the hotel it was a tad bit creepy) •room was extremely small in comparison to many hotels-while the bathroom was oddly spacious

2 day Miami trip
Hotel wasn't good. I wouldn't stay again. No hot water In room and they didn't fix. Also air conditioning was broken so it was either running and ice cold or not running and hot.

LOCATION WAS GREAT
Staying at the Clinton in the beginning of Nov 2011 we had a good visit. The room was not as pretty as in the pictures, but you can tell if they maintained it a little better it would easily look as nice. We did not spend much time in the room, but housekeeping did a great job, anything we needed they took care of right away, and the location was PERFECT for the price. I did spend one afternoon sunning and reading a book poolside, but the pool is very small and I think it is only good to cool off in while sunbathing. Overall the staff were helpful, friendly and took care of our needs. We loved South Beach overall and would go back to the Clinton.

We failed to take cabs at first and walked alot, but once we took a cab we realized how cheap it was and everything is so close that we only took cabs when my feet were hurting from dancing the nights away!

family getaway
that night at the hotel when we went to bed at around 1: am we woke up because we feel the noise of a few drops of water and we had ungran shock because the water which fell from the roof could fall on us. Sorry but never return to that hotel.
