Cavalier Hotel on Ocean Drive

It was terrible. The warm water didn't work all the days that we were there. We got a room where the toilet didn't work. We had to wait till 11 pm till we got another room. And in the new room the toilet didn't worked well either. They didn't cleaned the room and it was dirty everywhere. This was the most bad experience that we ever had in a hotel.

This hotels location was the only thing to like about the Cavalier. The restaurant was enjoyable but the hotel room sucked reminded me of ancient times My family and I will never stay here again!

The staff membrers at the hotel are the rudest people you will meet in south beach. The manager sits at the table in front of the hotel desk eating all day long while you wait to be assisted. She two sisters that work for her, they are so rude. It was very strange that this hotel lost their liquor license and could not serve alcohol. It also was very strange to see men in there older 50s come and sit with the workers and flirt all day long.it was the worst experience I've had in south beach

we've stayed twice at the hotel & never have had any major problems. The rooms aren't like really hotel-ish, has more of a motel look, but on the flipside it's right on ocean drive, so you can literally walk across the street to the beach or walk down to the clubs on washington. That was dope. One thing we didn't like was that this past weekend when we stayed the room was clean but when we were about to get in the bed, the bedsheets seem to be stained. like bodily fluid stains. That was extremely DISGUSTING! Luckily we had a 2 bedroom room so we stayed in the next bed. Regardless of that, I would stay again at this hotel, I would just make sure our sheets are clean beforehand...

This was my first time actually staying on Ocean Drive, I guess it was a good price for the location but expected more. The hair dryer didn't work and neither did the only iron in the hotel. Beside this the location was amazing right in front of the beach.

Since staying at South Beach has gotten especially expensive, I had to do a very thorough search for the most affordable hotel. I was going there for four days with a friend to relax and enjoy the ocean. This Hotel was the cheapest I was able to find [...]. If all you care about is a bed and a semi-working shower, this will suit you just fine! Positive aspects: It's on ocean drive and we had a safe in our room! Negative: The front desk person was highly unqualified - she could not provide any help regarding nearby attractions and made no effort to make us feel welcome when we showed up three hours prior to check in - we had to beg her to let us store our luggage somewhere. The house keeping is horribly slow... we left every morning and when we came back around 2-3 pm the room was still not cleaned. One time they forgot to clean our room all together. The walls are paper thin, and if people in the next room or the hallway were talking it sounded like they were standing over our ears, so it was very hard to get any sleep. The bed sheets are horribly worn out as are the towels which are grey and stiff from wear. The water pressure in the shower is very weak, the window shade was stained and ugly and several things in the bathroom kept falling off. We wanted to spend as little money as possible on the room since everything in South Beach is so expensive and we wanted to save every penny for other activities and dining out. I would say we got what we payed for but for about $100 per night I've stayed in MUCH nicer hotels! We didn't let it ruin our trip, as long as you know what to expect even this hotel can make your stay in Miami a pleasant one.

I found a great deal on [...], I could not resist. I have traveled all over the world staying in both budget, and luxury hotels. This place was a complete dive. The services was terrible. The hotel itself was dirty and dingy. There was no hot water any time of day. What was very upsetting was that I called the hotel before arrival and paid for late check out, that they did not honor. The elevator was broken and we were on the third floor they did not have anyone to help us carry our luggage to the basement. At the end of the day I love Miami and the price was just to good to turn up, but I will spend the extra money in the future and stay somewhere clean.

Took my wife down to South Beach for the first time and wanted her to experience everything that South Beach has to offer. She loved the atmosphere, dinning, shopping and the fact that we were in the heart of everything and within walking distance.The hotel staff was friendly and the food was awesome. The Cavalier Crab Shack has amazing food at very reasonal prices and great drink deals. There were some drawbacks to the room. The shower did not have hot water until you were in there for at least 15 minutes then the water would get lukewarm. The two irons that were brought to the room did not work and although the mini fridge was connected, it did not work. All in all, it was not bad.The fact that the hotel is centrally located made everything well worth it.

Before I left I read numerous reviews about several hotels, in the end I was left confused.. I went to Miami to get away for the week and relax. I didn't go to party, more to spend time at the beach. I needed a room for sleeping purposes. Yes the rooms are dated as per some of the descriptions, but hey it's not a 5 star resort. I actually thought it was better than some people gave it credit for. If possible, I would suggest that you bring your own pillow case and perhaps towels (it's hit and miss with the towels). Oh and the check in process is the longest I've ever endured (keep that in mind when checking out too as you may get stuck behind someone). I would stay there again as I loved the location! The location of the hotel was really great. It was across from the beach,next door to restaurants, and walking district from the club. The hotel staff was okay but the quality of the hotel was poor. I had to complain numerous of times to the front desk.
