Beachcomber
No good. The hotel is cheap and run down. The bedding was dirty and is not changed after a guest visit. Our toilet over flowed and stopped up the entire stay-- had to wait for maintenance to come from another building. There is no elevator so you have to carry your lugguage up steep steps. We cleaned our own room. They charged my card for something that was not taken from the mini bar in the room. The hard wood floors were dirty and cracked. The front desk was helpful, nice and friendly. But the hotel itself needs to be shut down.

the Hotel is well situated one block from the beach. The rooms are ok if you are on the second floor. it has an old school charm to it. no internet in the rooms, but free internet in the lobby and front porch. the staff are nice. affordable for small budgets.

Great location but so simple
The hotel was so simple. At first sight we were disapointed, but now I can say it was a good place to stay for a few days. We went to discover Miami, not stay at the hotel! The location was perfect! The beach was really close. We had fun there. Only bad thing that you can't use the wifi in your room, only at the lobby.

great... for last minute booking
Stayed here for 4th of July weekend. Great location, close to beach. shops everywhere a big plus. Hotel itself has cute and homey decor. things that need improvement: No ice machine on site; hello its miami beach! a lil ice goes a long way; Also no parking on site...can be a deal breaker, specially for locals looking for a staycation. Last but not least, staff should smile more.

bare essentials
Overall the Hotel experience was decent. You pretty much get what you pay for. The hotel room was more of a mini apt. The Bathroom was not the cleanest but it served it's purpose. Great location though.

Great location Needs some attention
Great location for exploring South Beach. No locks on one second floor window. Tricky key card door lock; was locked out of room for 45 minutes while night manager tried to get me in! Breakfast variety was hit or miss compared to affiliated hotel across the street that offered reasonable parking.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Avoid the hectic walk unter the hotel canopies on Ocean Drive. Cross the street and walk on the east side to appreciate the great Art Deco facades of the hotels.

More than suitable
Many reviews for this hotel were very disconcerting but we decided to go for it. 23 year olds on spring break like us aren't looking for luxury just a clean and affordable place to crash. I was pleasantly surprised to find the rooms clean and staff helpful as opposed to what some other reviewers have said. If theres one thing I've learned after researching hotels heavily before our spring break trips, it's that most negative reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt depending on what your looking for. The value couldn't be beaten, the location puts you in the center of everything South Beach has to offer, just a block from ocean drive and the beach. Rooms were cleaned very well, hard wood floors also cleaned which was nice, however a few small stains were found on towels and sheets here and there. One thing other reviewers have mentioned is that they don't allow early check-ins whatsoever which we found to be true, no earlier than 3pm was allowed. There was a dead cockroach found in the hallway which was troubling, but other than that no room bugs. Did see fumigators spraying in another room, but in Miami its a problem of the climate thats hard to avoid. Overall, if you're looking for a clean, basic place to rest your head I'd recommend this hotel

Bad experience
The overall appearance of the hotel was okay. This is strictly a lay down hotel, there is no ice provided and the free continental breakfast from 7-10am is out of food by 830am. The worst part, however, was that I picked up a case of Scabies from this hotel, and I did not even sleep under the covers. Please make sure you bring lysol or some other cleaning agent with you!

Great location, but that's about all
The hotel was in a great location with everything you needed within walking distance. The hotel itself smelt musty and the cleanliness of our bathroom was not impressive. The breakfast was quite a poor affair coupled with the fact that you were provided with polystyrene cups & plates and plastic knives & forks!
