The hotel’s 11,000 square feet of meeting space underwent a full renovation in 2000, at which time the Monte Carlo ballroom, a formal banquet room, was added. Ideal for large or small groups, the 4,700-square-foot Monte Carlo Ballroom can be partitioned into three sections and a variety of room configurations. It can accommodate from 300 to 700 people in banquet or theater-style arrangements. For smaller groups, meeting space includes six parlor meeting rooms, which seat 20 to 60 people each. The parlor rooms feature a new color palette of oranges, golds and purples, and Art Deco-inspired wrought-iron railings and light fixtures.

great service

The service was impeccable especially since we were staying an extra night after a week-long cruise and had gotten to the ... hotel at 10am (way before check-in time). We were given a room within 1/2 hr which we used to relax by the pool. The concierge service was also top-notch in recommending places and the shuttle to the airport. My only complaints are (1) the arrangement of the room was a bit dated with the awkward room configuration but the furniture, etc. within the room was fine, (2) the restaurant was a bit on the pricey end, and (3) though there was a free shuttle, I was told via phone that it would not pick us up from the Port of Miami and I was disappointed about that.

Talk to the concierge to see what connections they have. The concierge we dealt with at hotel Sofitel had a lot of connections so he was able to get us the hook up on most of the things we needed during our trip.

excellent shopping centers all over, easy to drive to South Beach and enjoy a leisurely evening in Lincoln Square ( shopping, bars, restaurants, etc )
--World Traveller, Paris France Nov 1, 2009
You can take about a ten minute walk to a burger king or chinese resterant. A publix supermarket is in the same shopping plaza. Not to many people speak english it is a spanish community. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to a mall for ten dollars a person. This hotel does offer a shuttle bus to the airport leaving every thirty minutes. Cost us $35.00 to take a taxi to this hotel from the cruise ship. Not so sure I would use this hotel again I get the same kind of treatment from a marriot or quality inn. We payed $104.00 for this so called luxury hotel.

Excellent service!!!
lotsatravels Nov 15, 2009
We actually stayed at the hotel two nights. One night before our cruise and one night after our cruise. The first night we ... stayed at Sofitel we were hungry but didn't know where to go. We asked the concierge at the front desk and he recommended some restaurants in the area. Once we picked a restaurant we thought he was going to call us a cab. To our surprise he had one of the staff members drop us off to the restaurant we picked. When we got there, the driver told us to give the hotel a call whenever we needed a ride back and they would come get us as well. We were all pleased and never asked how much they charged for this service. We figured we would find out when we checked out the next day. To our surprise, it was free of charge! The next night we stayed at Sofitel was when we got back from our cruise. We didn't plan our arrival very well because we didn't have any transportation when we got back from our cruise. I remembered reading in the hotel book in the room that Sofitel offered car rentals. We gave it a shot, called the hotel and asked if we could get a car delivered to us at the port. Instead, the car rental place that Sofitel got us in touch with picked us up at the port, brought us back to the rental place and said we could either return the car back at the hotel or return it back to the company and they would drive us to the airport. In the end, we saved money and they offered us convenience and peace of mind. We were really happy with the hotel and the service that they provided us.

Very pleasant hotel, beautiful and delicious restaurant( great FRENCH CHEF ) ,rooms are good size and clean with nice ... furnishings, bathrooms adequate but small tub ( not for bathing just showering which is a minus !) STAFF is excellent and very helpful. A computer business center would be welcome as the four available FREE computers are usually turned into a children's playstation ! ALL IN ALL A VERY PLEASANT AND RELAXING STAY

Loved the french accents of the employee
Linda Oct 28, 2009
The employees were very welcoming at first. I'm not so sure we gave them a big enough tip, because after that they didn't ... seem to be very helpful. They put us in a non smoking room when we had reserved a smoking room, which we were told they only had four of. After making us go get our own bags out of the non smoking room they left us to sit in the lobby for an hour and a half with bags. The room was right next to something running constently making for a humming noise all day and night. Loud enough to drown out the noise from the airplanes flying directly overhead. It did seem to be an older hotel, very clean, very comfortable beds, no refidgerator in the room. No one was available to help us out with the many bags that we had. They did help us with getting our airline tickets printed out via the internet. You have to go see the conceige to do that. The dining room was very expensive and room service will bring you a burger for $16.00.

We were welcome as soon as we walked up to the hotel with smiles. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The staff was ... very accomadating arranging for our group, 2 of the 3 rooms on the same floor. Also, they arranged transportation for the 6 of us to/from a resturant in little Haiti. The pool area was nice, but the water was a bit chilly for Miami in September. The resturant/room service was a bit pricey (oatmeal at almost $10! Wish there were more dining options near by or a free shuttle to dining hot spots. Views from the rooms were wonderful, we slept with the curtins open. I would surely stay at ANY Sofitel if they are all as wonderful as this one.

We used the hotel for an overnite stop-over prior to a very early flight out of Miami. The hotel is first class. The price ... was excellent. Airport shuttle was frequent, timely and courteous. Since we had dropped off our rental car, the hotel is pretty landlocked -- it is pretty much a "shuttle" hotel for the airport. The restaurant prices are pretty expensive. Plan ahead.
