Dramatic Miami International Airport hotel set on a blue lagoon
Executive travelers with an eye for design will feel at home at this European-style hotel. The 218-room property is set on a picturesque blue lagoon. The building captivates with bold details such as a grand tiled lobby with red leather club chairs and a wrought-iron banister and Art Deco lighting fixtures. Nice looking hotel , Modern
Enjoyed the stay , staff very friendly. Only thing missing a Hot Tub , or having the pool heated would have been nice. The hotels interior was very attractive and smelled nice. Very close to airport and yet fairly quiet , could hear the planes a little from our room closest to the airport in the hotel , neat views of airport and lagoons.

Tee The Traveler
Stuck in Miami
After a bad experience with my flight being delayed and eventually cancelled. I booked my room and arrived at 1am. In my time of need Mike and the rest of the staff was extremely helpful and even upgraded my room because of my bad experience. The hotel was gorgeous and a rock throw from the airport. I enjoyed my short stay at the hotel and will be staying there again.

Nice to be close to the airport
The hotel was lovely and the room was nice. It was a problem that I wasn't told that there was a parking charge until we checked out. I would have taken the rental car back sooner if I'd known. It also would have been nice is a place that billed itself as a luxury hotel had a heated pool and more than two towels in the bathroom

stylish, close to the airport
I love Sofitel for always being so stylish and this location didn't disappoint in that regard. Just a few minutes from the airport, it still manages a great view across the pool of a large lagoon with fountains (or the highway -depending). I arrived late and ended up in a smoking room, offset by upgrade to a suite. Fitness center was well equipped. My room was nice, but was showing some wear, like scuffs on the walls, chipped paint. Lobby spaces are gorgeous.

Overnight stop
I was there overnight on a trip during my return home from South America. I simply slept in the bed and got up and got on a different plane. I was disappointed that the room had no coffee maker. That is why I rank the hotel amenities at only a 3.

Very nice hotel, but a little overpriced

Hotel restaurant was VERY expensive, i.e., $4.00 for an 8 ounce bottle of soda. There are no markets or restaurants within walking distance so bring your own food, snacks, etc. Also, hotel charges $9.00 parking fee per night!
