Sofitel Miami

i have two things i was upset about. 1st i pay 134.99 per night for a luxury room that had no ferg. and no micoware and was the same room as a reg.room for 99.99 per night. i ask about this and was told the only diffence was the luxury room had the lagoon view.the 2nd thing is that this hotel was so close to the air port you here every airplane that toke off.even at 2:00 am not all was bad very nice staff. very clean place. don't forget 8 dollars per day parking and 10 dollars per day internet

We got there late and left early. Five hours sleep.

Expected a lot more from a Sofitel. This one, however, was run-down, needs renovation badly and the Cuisine and service from the "french" restaurant left much to be desired.

Hotel is refurbished, older facility. Slow elevators. Close to the airport, but not much else. Their decription suggests 15 minutes to most things---concierge was clear that it was farther. When we asked about meal options outside of the hotel, we were told by the concierge there weren't any. A quick search on the internet in their lobby unearthed Wendy's, BK, and McD's within a third of a mile. We walked. Hotel food was expensive: eight bucks for a fruit cup in their coffee shop, 12-15 dollar sandwiches in their nice restaurant, plus tip. Entrees even higher. Nice housekeeping staff. I'd been more satisfied had we paid less money for what we got. Sofitel has been a fine place to stay for us before, but something about this experience just didn't feel quite right.

Information listed on site was not the same as when arrived at hotel. Not free internet. Breakfast was not included. Expensive to go anywhere from the hotel and nothing near the hotel. Hotel itself was nice. Would not stay there again, other hotels near by just as nice for less money.

Service staff very friendly, the dining room was nice by very expensive. Nothing else around to walk to. I guess this is Miami however. We were told we would have a free shuttle to the port of Miami for our cruise, however we were charged when it came to reserve our shuttle.

I went to the pool right when I got to the hotel--the chairs and decor was lovely! The pool area wasn't the greatest--especially b/c they were doing work at the same time (so it was dusty). It would have been nice if there was someone there to ask if I wanted something to drink. But all in all, loved the experience. What kind of turned me off was in the room itself, I was wearing socks and afterwards the bottom was turning brown... steam clean the carpets :/ But the staff was AMAZING. La Riviera was awesome (the restaurant near the bar at the hotel). The beds were heavenly. :D

We were surpriced by this location so close to the airport and comfort was wery high.

The hotel was in a short driving distance to every location we planned to visit. The staff was very pleasant; however, it was very annoying when there was only one elevator working when A LOT of guests needed to check out. We had to squeeze into the small elevator with 5 other guests, one hotel employee, and A LOT of suitcases. The room was clean; however, there was a lot of long hairs around the bathroom. The bathroom had some really bad renovations done. The walls were thin, we could hear the guests in the next room and the guests on the above floor. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, so these things did not bother us much.

the loby entry doors must be changed to automatic opening , and must put ramp from parking to entrance
