I waited 25 minutes to check in because there was only one front desk agent who was proccupied with some other issue. By the ... time he assisted me there were 7 people in line to check in. The room was OK. Nothing special - no curtains - just black-out plastic. The TV didn't work; no clock; no blanket. old thin pillows. This is not a nice place. I paid $25 cash deposit for the safe and because I didn't produce a receipt they didn't want to refund my money - I threatened to start screaming and the refund was paid. NEVER GOING BACK

Moving to Miami Nov 11, 2009
The wifi and the fixed internet computer were down most of the time. The staff was not concerned & couldn't provide help. ... After several attempts to make outgoing cals from the rooms, we were told that the room phones had been down for months. You can only call the front desk & receive incoming calls. VERY INCONVENIENT!

The Luna's Nov 9, 2009
Small rooms and small beds. Stayed there one night before going on a cruise. Close to the harbor and overlooked the river. ... Close to public transportation but for the same reason could hear the metrorail going bye. Breakfast was not all that. Internet was slow in the room. For the price and a place to stay it was good enough.

Horrible
Jenn Blank Nov 1, 2009
The room was small with one 1 full size bed (a standard room comes with 2), we had to pay $25 mandatory valet parking (which ... was NOT disclosed during booking), the staff was rude, and it took 40 minutes to check out of our room. I would never stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. As far as I'm concerned, I'd much rather pay a more expensive up front price as opposed to getting tricked into a "good" rate with sub-standard rooms, unfriendly staff, and ridiculous add-on fees aimed at taking advantage of unsuspecting patrons.

Our weekend was wonderfull. I believe in, i get what i pay for and i thought i would be walking into a dump and it took me by ... suprise. The view from the room was fabulous, the room was wonderfull. The stay would have been better if we did not have to wait almost an hour to get the valet parking done, considering that it was the only way to park...

Hotel before cruise.

I stayed here for 1 night before my cruise. The hotel was OK, nice enough for the price I paid. The hotel staff was friendly. ... Continental breakfast was very much lacking. All it had was croissants. Shuttle to the port for 6 bucks. Most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in.There's a people mover right outside the hotel which we took to Bayside.

Jamie Sep 30, 2009
This place was definately nice at one time. Now it's a bit run down and possibly under-staffed. The location was great, ... rooms were good enough for one or two nights. If you are planning on saving money this is the way to go, if you want something nice, maybe up your price range a bit. Also, it's $25 to park a rental. There is a public parking garage nearby that is much cheaper if you don't mind a short walk. We enjoyed our stay, but spent little time in the room.

TV gets poor reception, Iorn did not work and plumbing was a problem. No wonder the rates are cheap. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

You get what you pay for!!!
ruffio971 Sep 3, 2009
After reading all the reviews from the other travellers I decided to give a chance to this infamous hotel! First surprising ... thing to know is that you have to pay $2 per day for a safe located in the drawer even if you won't use it you'll have to pay! Then there's a valet parking charging $25 whereas you can park the car yourselft in the nearby public parking FREELY from midnight to 8am everyday. Regarding the hotel, I think it is a OK hotel. You get what you pay for, i.e budget accomodation. The staff could be friendlier (did not even thank us when checked-out) the so-called breakfast is served only from 8am to 9am and everyone is entitled to two croissants, orange juice/water and coffee! If she likes you, the food and beverage assistant might give you extra croissants otherwise get your own food...The WIFI only works at the first floor so don't hope to check your emails all the way up to their 16th floor! The swimming pool is quite small for a hotel of that size. The location is what saves the hotel it is located just in front of a metrover station, Macy's and the downtown are 5mns away, count 15mns walk to Bayside Mall and Port of Miami! It's located next to the highways so except noise coming from the night racers! As a conclusion, if you're on a budget and just need a place to sleep in for several days this hotel is for you, but if you're looking for something a bit more glamourous try Holiday Inn 3 blocks away ;)

didn't like this hotel Aug 31, 2009
Hotel was located back behind the Hyatt. Rooms wern't very nice. Narrowest doors i have ever seen. Room wasn't very ... clean. It looked like even one of the electrical sockets had arced at one time. it was all black. Didn't look safe at all. When i looked outside my window there wasn't much to see but a wall. What i did see out there was a broken step ladder and a bunch of trash. The free continental breakfast was almost non-existant. It consisted of 2 croissants....stale ones, and coffee (burnt) and OJ. And the person serving it was not very friendly. When i called down to the front desk for a wake up call. it took them almost 10 rings to pickup. i scheduled the wake up call for the next day and never got it. I was talking with some of the guests that had stayed there before, and apparently this had been a really nice place about a year and a half ago. I don't recommend this hotel. spend the extra money and book a nice hotel.

First-time in Miami Aug 27, 2009
The check in was somewhat slow as there seemed to be some miscommunication between orbitz and the hotel or unfamiliarity ... among the staff in how to retrieve a reservation placed through orbitz. However, this problem resulted in an upgrade from a room to a suite. The room was old but clean; the edges of the carpeting where meeting the wall were in rough shape. There were stains on the curtains and lamphades. The lighting was not very good for working in. The telephone lacked information how to reach the front desk or place outside calls. These problems aside, the bathroom was in marvelous condition, and the upholstery on the chairs was excellent. This particular room had a view of the expressways and skyscrapers. The noise from the road was not too bad, but, there was some light coming through the curtains which did not fully meet; safety pinning two of them together solved this. During the day it was spectacular to watch the birds glide in circles above the skyscrapers. The other hotel guests were diverse, international, and young. There were some tasty and convenient ethnic restaurants nearby.

Fed Ex Driver Aug 23, 2009
This was not a good trip. I was on vacation from my job and I can't wait to get back to work. I booked the trip online and ... it's not stated anywhere that the parking is $25.00 per day. (thats something important when my stay is 5 nights.) I wasn't there 5 minutes and the guy parking cars said I had to pay him atleast 12 dollars (0-12 min. in the loading zone) just so I could take me my 1 year olds luggage to the room. (Eventhough I was parked out of the way)As far as room, No internet in the room hard beds, old and small furniture, no fridge, no microwave, no view, but it's supposed to be a suite. I went ahead and stayed, but checked out after one night! (only because I just drove over 800 miles)
