The hotel is ok. pool is nice. Standard Latino service..at times slow, and with an attitude. We had a nice ocean side room. Rooms are large, but very sparsly furnished

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
The best resturants are on Lincoln Street about 1 1/2 mile toward south beach. It is a nice walk along the board walk. Do not eat on Ocean Blvd. Most everwhere is a rip off. High prices and lousy food!! The people watching is better on Lincoln. It is a nice pedestrian street.

Riu Flordia Beach
This is a great economical option that has a great pool and is right on the beach! It is a little further away from everything, but a short bus ride for $2 will get you to Licoln Rd. The ocean view room is worth the extra money as the rooms and bathrooms are bigger. The rooms are outdated, but clean and serve their purpose.

Not Too Bad
All in all, not a bad experience. The mattress was well used. I would have preferred something more firm. The shampoo is combined with body soap hanging on the wall in the shower. I had to ask twice for wash cloths. They did not offer to help with our luggage when we arrived. I'm 60 years old and have a bad back. The facility was clean and maintained. The buffet breakfast was expensive but good. Pool side service is non existent.

Riu florida bch
We chose the Riu because it was next door to the The Royal Palms Hotel where we were going to attend a family wedding. We were not happy with the fact that there were NO queen sized beds available in the entire hotel. So we settled for 2 double beds, one of which remained empty during our entire 3 day stay. Overall we had a nice time, but really only enjoyed the hotel a very limited time because we spent most our time with family. The pool was great and so was the beach, except for the seaweed. I would recommend it, but the bed situation was almost a dealbreaker for us.

Time-saving tip:
In Hotel
having your car valet parked and dropped off is convenient but be sure to come down at least 10 mins before you need to leave because it takes time for the parking attendant to retrieve your car.

Nice hotel
Hotel was nice; however, the administration should make sure in advance that the room being provided to guests are "truly" vacant. The day i arrived, I was allotted room 928, which was already allotted to someone else. It was a bit disturbing to see someone else walk into the room claiming this room to be hers. Overall, I had a nice stay at the Riu Florida Beach Hotel.

U can get more from ur money.
The staff was really friendly. We booked a no sea view room to save money, but omg the view we had was a horrible destroyed building. the rooms need urgent renovation, the bathroom were not clean and the shower had no water pressure. the room, closet and drawers, had an odd smell .. like old and humidity.. eww... We rented a car so we can move around, but the parking fee is 18 usd per day... we payed them almost everyday.. hint? from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am u can park for free in the street. The hotel is not a cheap one, and for that price u should booked a room in southbeach near the restaurants and other amenities.

Old World Elegance
Like most Miami Beach hotels, the Riu is grossly over priced. They are also undergoing a phase of much needed renovation so make sure you get one of the updated rooms. The older ones are terrible. The hotel has an air of old money about it. The updated rooms are comfortable and clean. The mini bar as quoted in the room desription is actually just a mini fridge. There is an on site restraurant which is buffet style and again expensive unless you stuff yourself stupid. Parking is an additional $20 per night.
