Miami Bound Mom
So-So
Location was good-part way between South Beach and the wonderful mall! In residential area! We learned the public bus system as we took it several times. The shuttle driver to/from the mall left EARLY (6:15 instead of 6:30), next shuttle not until 9:00pm. Again, we took public transportation in the pouring rain! Regarding the room, it was okay, bed uncomfortable and bathroom extremely outdated and tiny! Overall, it was okay for a girlfriend getaway.

Please visit Aventura Mall! It is rather high-end but we found some great deals! It's worth a trip there! P.S., the city bus drops you off directly in front of the mall!

Very satisfied
Location was ideal from going to Marlins baseball game, hanging out on South Beach and enjoying Ocean Drive, Shopping on Lincoln Rd., and Aventura Mall as well as going on Airboat Ride in Everglades.

Breakfast was good but the food at Hotels on Ocean Drive is a must for lunch or dinner, reasonalble prices, large portions and great tasting.

The room was run down and the air conditioner cycled on and off every 15-30 seconds and couldn't be turned off. The room was very spacious but had paper thin walls.The pool area was very run down. Not the good value I thought it would be. The pictures made it look 10 times better than it was. I read the previous reviews and thought they were generous.

nearby busstation
The hotel is very close to the busstop going to downtown, wallmart, aventura mall,south beach. The beach is 25 meters from the pool and excellent. The hotel we gave a 4 star rating.

Nice getaway
Nice place to get away from it all. We go to just be on the beach and relax. Right on the bus route, and a free shuttle to and from South Beach and the Mall.(shuttle driver did not communicate with the passangers about stops and a long wait.) The park right next to the property is nice for walking. For the money and to be right on the beach is great. Bathrooms are small, room this time was large, but not much furniture in it. This room had a deck, that was never swept off and had lots of tree litter.

great family oriented atmosphere
The Howard Johnson was a great place for my family and I to stay at while vacationing at miami beach florida. The room was very clean and the staff was extreemly friendly and considerate. We enjoyed the pool and love the fact that the beach was right at our doorsteps. The location was very good, we were able to take the bus to the mall from the front of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

the only real annoying problem was the bedding--it would not stay on the mattress---otherwise for the MONEY it was great!

a nice beachfront hotel
thi was our first stay in miami. The hotel was a little older but,it was kept up very nicely.The view of the beach from our room was great!
