I learned a lesson!

When My son and I first walked into this hotel I was surprised because it looked like a nice place. I asked the person at the front desk, where was the parking? He said " it was in the back of the of the hotel". I had to drive around the block a few times before I finally found it. It's pretty dark and kind of dirty, the room cleaners take a long time cleaning the rooms. I left in the morning and came back around 5 pm to find the room wasn't cleaned yet. I saw the lady cleaning the next room and tried to talk to her but she couldn't speak english. I talked to another lady and she said it would take only 10 minutes well I had to wait an hour. This happened over and over for the next 2 or 3 days. I even tried to tell the front desk about it and it didn't help. I saw the cleaning lady across the hall talking to someone for about half an hour when she knew we were waiting. When she seen us going into our room she turned a told the other lady something and they both looked at us and continued this action for a while and I knew they were talking about us. Even though they were talking spanish I knew they gossiping about us! She took her sweet time getting to our room and we could finally get to a clean room about an hour later. I had paid for another 5 days with an option to extend another week. That was the last night we stayed there, that night I made arrangements for another hotel, the next morning I asked for my refund and got out of there! Parking is extra which is not included in the rate, you have to put down a deposit and the rug throughout the hallways were really dirty. My son said it looked like blood stains.

Location was perfect for our trip. Room was very clean. Was glad the room had a refrigerator, but do wish it had had a microwave in the room also. Liked the fact there was a simple breakfast each morning and we didn't have to go out.

Great location but everything else not so much

The good: (1) Great location. It is right across the street from the outdoor mall and IMAX theater. (2) The price. Paid a very low price considering the location. The bad: (1) Finding parking wasn't easy. Upon checking in and asking for help in locating the parking lot, a rude staff member spoke to us in a very condescending manner. Checking in as well, the same staff member spoke in a condescending tone. (2) The bathroom lacked facial tissue despite having a dispenser. Inside the bathroom/shower had dirty foots prints. (3) Most noticeably, the room was freezing cold. Despite changing the thermostat to 80, it still was in the 50s. (4) Lastly, there is free WIFI, but NOT within the rooms. You are required to go into the lobby to access the wifi.

Miami Best Hotel?

When I first got to the property, I was surprised to find that there was a daily fee for parking on the premises? What is that about? Next ......at the front desk I was told that there was a daily fee for having a safe available in the room.....not optional, just a fee added to the bill. The good price I began with went up by ten dollars a day before I even got to the room. The hotel is musty smelling throughout. Continental breakfast was a joke. All in all the worst hotel I have stayed in to date.

Worst Miami Hotel

The first Impression was enough to make me cringe the lobby was dark and smelled like old wet laundry. The man at the desk was rude. The carpet was lumpy and filthy ( watch your step)! MY room was the size of a closet and was not the reservation I had made. The bathroom was covered in rust stains. The ceiling had a black tinge to it but has been painted over to cover it up... what ever was on the ceiling was now seeping through the paint. the beds were old and sagging and I could here the springs moan inside. not to mention the stained sheets and old faded bed spread. They would not refund my money and charged for parking and room safe without disclosing this prior to me. Then charged my card a 50.00 security deposit which I did get back but I could have done with out that hold on my vacation.

Miami trip

very bad--when i arrived i was informed that I would be billed a $2 per day mandatory security charge plus $8 per day parking. the wireless internet only worked in the lobby. the continental breakfast was bagels and cereal. the mattress on my bed was physically sagging in the middle. the hotel provided only about 15 stations on an old tv

I wouldnt do it again

Shuttle service, the two men who came were very nice however the shuttle van was very shakey, the brakes squeaked almost as though there was not a lot of break pads left, also the ride was a bit nerve wrecking because we were swerving in and out of lanes and almost hitting other drivers, and the speedometer did not even work. The hotel was okay, but not the greatest. The room was muggy and smelled musty. The ceiling looked like it had some leaks and the shower dripped and was dirty. The remote did not work and when we called the front desk they said they would send someone to take care of it however we waited about an hour and no one ever came. The pool was dirty and not very warm.

For the price, it met all expectations...

Except for the UNDISCLOSED roomsafe fee, ($2 per day and did NOT use the safe), which is charged upon check-out, all was positive... ALL charges should be disclosed upon check-in or during the booking procedure. This is a suspiciously unfair practice and I will contact my credit card company to remove those charges!

What was expected.

Even after reading many negative reviews regarding this hotel I thought I would give it a try. I agree with the positive reviews that this hotel is what one could expect for this price -which I feel was a good deal. The airport shuttle driver mentioned that this used to be a "Best Western" hotel and it very much shows that the new owners are not big into maintenance. Still, all I needed was a place to stay for a long layover (23 hours) and this place worked out just fine.
