Our stay at the Miami Regency hotel.
Susan Nov 25, 2009
This hotel was not what we were looking for. They have a bar with live music that played until 5:00AM in the morning! Our ... room was 4 stories over it and we could feel the bass from the music all night long! Then the next morning we had a car reserved with this hotel and they told us there was none available, then the story changed to - well maybe we can get one later in the day, after much debate, they finally found one for us! All spanish speaking people had no problems getting a car! We felt very much discrimanated against because we only spoke English! I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!

Looks can be deceiving....
Cruise Lover Nov 21, 2009
The main reason we chose this hotel was because of the free transportation to and from the airport as well as the cruise ... port. Unfortunately our experiences with that were far from being the best. When we arrived at the airport we ended up waiting around for the hotel van for a little more than 2 hours. At first we never saw the van, but we sure saw all the other hotels around the area. So we made a call to the hotel to find out when the next one was coming, and they told us about 15 min. So we waited....and waited....and waited. 15 minutes turned into 30 then we finally saw it....drive right past us as the driver never even looked over to see if someone was waiting. So we made another call to the hotel and asked for the supervisor, well that was a whole other ordeal being transferred multiple times, calls being dropped and never actually speaking to one. At this point we were just going to take a cab. About 1.5 hours later we finally saw the van and had to practically jump and wave our arms to get the driver's attention. Hallelujah he finally saw us and we were taken to the hotel. The room was alright the staff were eh, not too on the friendly side. Another thing we noticed was that the room was not very clean. The bathroom sink as well as the shower were leaking. Chunks of tile were missing on the sink's counter. Basically it felt really run down and dirty. We've come to the conclusion we would rather pay the extra 20 some bucks for a taxi than deal with this "free" transportation again.

Cruiser Nov 17, 2009
We flew into Miami Sunday night to board our cruise ship Monday morning. We called the hotel when we landed and their ... shuttle was there within minutes to get us. The staff was vary friendly but did not speak very good english, they were very hard to understand. The rooms were clean but very out dated along with the bed. The bed was old and my husband and I spent all night sunk in the middle of it. We were only there for a short time and it suited our needs. It picked us up from the airport and took us to the Port of Miami the next morning which saved us $ for transportation.

I found that the Regency Club for breakfast on the 6th floor was closed but all the signs saying it was open were still up. ... No wi-fi in room or in Regency club area as advertized. It's near the airport and convenient and the price was right, but it is right under the flight path and occasionally noisy.

Were here for 3 days while on business. The hotel itself has seen better days, (found previous guest's thongs hanging in ... shower). However, the staff is friendly and helpful. Very close to airport (noisy on balcony). If you don't speak spanish, bring a translator. The entire area, including the hotel, PREFERS to speak spanish.

Try the Latin Cafe, just up the road, if you are in the mood for Cuban Cuisine. Good food and prices. For tennis, try the Sans Souci Tennis courts.

Lyn Nov 3, 2009
Very close to the airport and provide free shuttle ride to the Port of Miami. The rooms and amenities are okay and what is ... expected of the rates they charge which is cheaper as compared with other hotels in that area, reasonable for a night stay. The printer at the Business Center still don't work (as I've read from other reviews) but an accomodating hotel staff, her name is Patricia, helped me out to print our boarding passes from her office. Thanks again, Patricia and to the bellman and van drivers.

The hotel provide a free shuttle ride to and from Dolphin Mall, but you will have to sign in the day before the 10 AM departure. Otherwise there's a shared van ride that stop at 4 different hotels just for a fee of $10/person (round trip). Ask for the front desk for schedule.

Upon check in room service refused to take my order and replied that they were closing up even though I had a window time of ... 15 minutes before they closed. An apology would have helped, but no. Hairs were found in the bathroom and the tub was dirty. Light bulb missing from bedside table a DND hanger not available in the room. A small cash advance was requested to pay the taxi, but the F/D were not flexible with the request. The brief stay left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be staying at that hotel in the future.

This is a great place to stay if you are going on a cruise. Free shuttle service 24/7 from airport. Free shuttle service to the port (but not back -- they can't bring people back, but a shuttle from there to the hotel was not much).
