Good Value
We stayed for one night in order to spend a holiday with our son who attends college in Melbourne. The hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. We were late checking in but that was "no problem". The room was clean and smelled good. We paid the extra money for breakfast included and it was well worth it. I was afraid that it would be a Continental Breakfast but it was a full hot and cold breakfast buffet. It was quite busy but there was no shortage of food. The only problem was that the bed was too soft for me.

Broken Bed

They are THIEVES!
When we got to the hotel Saturday afternoon I told the clerk that because of a job scheduling conflict I needed to check out Sunday instead of Monday. She promptly told me that I needed to call [...]since it was a prepaid reservation and I probably would not get my money back. I learned that the hotel not orbit had enacted a rule to keep someone from receiving a refund no matter how early you inform them. Here is the new rule: Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne West change and cancellation policy:Cancellations or changes made within 1 day prior to 4:00 PM local hotel time on the day of arrival are subject to a $87.85 charge. Cancellations or changes made after 4:00 PM local hotel time on the day of arrival are subject to a 100% charge. We are sorry but refunds are not available for early check-out.No other hotel I have been to charges you if you cancel before 6pm on the day of arrival. Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne West is a rip off.

Comfortable
We stayed in the Marriot Courtyard while in Melbourne for a funeral. The hotel staff were very cordial. Because we had a do ot disturb sign on the door, the front desk called our room later to see if we needed anything. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were vry clean. The front desk staff made sure the family's roomsclose to one another. We were pleased with our stay.

We stayed at this location to visit our daughter at a nearby college. The people that work at this hotel are the friendliest, most helpful people I have ever encountered at any hotel chain. They are Terrific! Clean, confortable rooms at a reasonable price at a location that worked out beautifully for us. We will stay there again. The only negatives (extremely minor)is that this time, we were given a Handicapped accessable room and the sink area in these rooms are smaller than the normal room. Also no Vending machines and limited choices for snacks and drinks. However, we love this place!
