Located in the heart of 'Olde Marco', the property offers spacious one and two bedroom tropically furnished suites. The Olde Marco Inn & Suites has been a favorite of Marco Island visitors for decades. This charming Victorian Inn with tin roofs, blue shutters, and awnings was once the premier hotel on the Island. The original 1883 historic building is now home to Guest Registration, the restaurant & lounge. Guests now stay in beautiful new modern suites that feature full kitchens and large screened lanais. Conference facilities, free parking, handicap rooms, pool, restaurant, internet access, hot tub and HBO Reservations must be cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid a penalty of one nights room and tax

Other reviews I've read are not fair

Our suite was large and clean, well kept and comfortable with a large bedroom with king bed, a combination livingroom, dining room and well equipped kitchen and a very large lanai. There is a large TV in the livingroom and a smaller one in the bedroom. Other reviewers said the beds were hard.....firm is a better term. Somebody said it was dirty. It was not. The lanai had some windblown dirt but otherwise there was none other than the sand that we tracked in after the beach but that was well swept the next day. The furniture was comfortable and the overhead fans made it so we didn't need to turn on the air conditioner at all. The linens were fresh and crisp, the bed made daily. The linens were not changed daily but that is usual for condos. The thread count was not like a silky egyptian cotton but it was fine. We found that the staff was friendly although we didn't need to make any special requests of them. There were a couple of reviews that were so negative that we almost didn't go there. I'm glad we ignored them because this was a wonderful place to stay.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Tigertail beach is great. It is a mini adventure to wade across a lagoon to get there. You are away from all of the highrises and noise. It reminded me of the old feeling of Marco Island when I went there when I was ten years old before any of the development happened.

I did not know what to expect at this hotel and I was wonderfully surprised with the size and beauty of the suite, the pleasantness of the staff and the quality of the service.

Would Not Recommend

Very disappointed in this hotel during our stay in November 2011. Had several questions which we e-mailed to the hotel before we left home, and never received a response. The office was only open 8AM-6PM daily. Our room was filthy -- our feet were black after walking around on the bare floors. Appliances were terribly dirty - pans under the burners on the stove were caked with food. Found hairs on the sheets. One day they neglected to make up the beds and clean the bathroom. 4 of us stayed in a suite and there were no hangers - we had to request them. Found mold in several places. Found a small lizard in the bathroom one day. When arrived home, washed everything that came in contact with that room. It was gross. Would not recommend this plac.e

Good size for the money

Hotel is off the path from shops & most restaurants. It does have a seafood shop, cupcake shop & 2 restaurants as well as some little shops on site but we went while the seafood guy was out of town, cupcake people were doing a wedding & the other shops were closed maybe due to it being October. The two restaurants were pretty expensive believe cheapest meal was $19. The Snook bar & restaurant is a very short walk. We only drank there one night and their drinks seemed expensive. Paid $3 for a bottle of beer during 1/2 off happy hour. The pool was nice but could see how it could get crowded during the season. You have to pay $8 to park at any of the two beaches on the island. Unless you eat/drink at the sports bar on the south beach- they will let you park there. We had an ant problem in our kitchen & there were dirty dishes left in our dish washer. The staff seemed nice. I highly recommend the Marco island brewery! Awesome sandwiches, tons of tvs & great priced drinks ($3 for 16oz draft.. Also have happy hour 430-7 25 oz for $3). I would stay at the inn again but may try my luck getting it on priceline or something. Marco island does have a trolley but didn't see it running much.

Great vacation and price

We really had a great relaxing time. We went to the beach, pool, hot tub, out to dinner, & walking. The hotel was in walking distance to some of the bars & restaurants we went to. Everyone that works there are very friendly & helpful.

Ver nice and clean. The only issue we had was the hot water was very limited for 4 people. it went cold after the the tird person, and they were not long showers. Over all it was very nice and we would go back.

AWESOME MINI-VACAY

I had been traveling back and forth to Marco with my husband for work and thought what a great spot for a Mini-Vacay with the family. Since we were just popping down from Cape Coral for a 2 day stay we didn't want to spend a fortune at an ocean front resort. Saw the reviews for the Olde Marco Island Inn and Suites and thought we'd give it a try. SO........ glad we did!! From the moment we arrived [...] at the desk was wonderful. She went out of her way to make our whole family feel welcome. As stated in many of the Inn reviews "she is a gem".The Inn and property are beautiful. Our suite was large, comfortable and most importantly clean. Our unit had a large porch with a nice water view (from the upper level rooms)and a kitchen that was fully stocked with dishes etc. The Chef's Express Cafe near by has great breakfast fare and we look forward to dining at Bistro Soleil at the Inn during our next stay. This Inn is a value beyond compare on Marco. We plan to return again soon and will recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great getaway!

Quiet, attractive getaway

Large, well-decorated suite was perfect for "brothers getaway" on Marco. Nice location, away from the hub-bub but close to everything. Charming, well-landscaped, outdoor waterfront bar just 1/2 away. Could benefit from enhanced wi-fi reception.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Try Snooks on the corner for waterfront drinks and dining. Not stuffy, reasonable prices.
