Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort

We took this as a last minute deal. The property is beautiful and the houses are very nice with all the amenities. We had a great dinner with great service at the Butterfly cafe. The problem is, this resort is very much geared to families, so if you want a little peace and quiet, look elsewhere. Also, the bartenders at the Tiki Bar are more than a little bit surly, although the ladies who assist and serve the food are wonderful. All in all, we wouldn't return to Tranquility Bay.

We just spent a few days in this great resort. We were a party of 5 : 4 adults (2 elder) and one two years old boy. It was exactly what we were looking for, peaceful setting, beautiful living area, nice pools, great meals! The pool was smaler that what a had in mind but was really nice anyways :)

The view was exactly like the picture - tropical paradise. The 3 BR beach house was great space. Could sleep 8 easily. . Plenty of room. Great kitchen. Washer and dryer. Restaurants on the property were good. Pools were perfect. Expected more of a swimming beach but the pools made up for it. Didn't see the exercise facility. Thought the $25/day resort fee was already paid but it wasn't and had to pay at checkout : (

Kind of late IMO for this kind of money. No breakfast in restaurant. Added $25 "resort fee". That was pretty cheesy. Not sure if I would go back.

My daughter and I visited the Keys for 4 days on her early March college break. I suppose how you rate this hotel depends on what experience you're after. We wanted well located, waterfront lodging with a kitchen that was upscale and clean. This is perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals. It was spotless. Bathrooms are tiny but nice- and there were 3 of them in our two bedroom townhouse. We appreciated the beach towels and washer/ dryer in the room for our use. The two balconies were also really lovely for evening and morning. One regret is that our balcony faced North so did not get much direst sun. If I had to point out a negative it would be the proximity to the highway and airport. You will hear traffic if you listen for it, especially in the small bedroom facing the road. This is often hard to avoid in the keys. Also, be ready to deal with seaweed. The hotel has a swimming beach with fencing to keep it to a minimum but it's there. The pools were very nice and there's a resident iguana at the family pool. I was surprised at the nicequality of the putting greens available in our courtyard. Not just glorified mini-golf. We hope to visit this hotel again. Close enough to everything the keys have to offer but fairly quiet and private.

THE ROOMS WE'RE CLEAN. THE STAFF WAS GREAT. IT WAS COMFORTABLE, QUIET AND FRIENDLY. THE ONLY THING MISSING WAS THE KITCHEN WAS NOT SUPPLIED WELL FOR PREPARING A MEAL. IT IS VERY FAMILY FRIENDLY THOUGH. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!

beautiful place, nice accomodations. The keys aren't known for there beaches. Our beach area was small and there was a lot of sea grass along the beach line (this could be do to the time of the year we went- nov). The hotel was good at picking this up in the Am. There were additional resort fees that I thought were included in my package deal but weren't-this was a little disappointing.

The hotel/condo was very nice, however, in the description it states one bedroom had a kink size bed and the other had twins that cold be converted into a king. This was not the case. We caleed the day before to advise them that we wanted to make sure both rooms were set up as kings. We got there and one was a king and the other was still twins. After calling the reception desk, they sent someone who just pushed the twins together(which is NOT a king). With two couples traveling together, we would not have picked this hotel had we known this. Also, upon checking out, they were going to charge us an additional $24.00 a day resort fee. After an hour of wasted vacation time, ther receptionist finally agreed to credit the charge, then we had to wait for a manager to get freed up to process it. Then, we had to call [...] and waste more time, to be told we should not have been charged any resort fees at this hotel.

Just relaxed, spent a day sightseeing and at Key West.

I HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS RESORT WAS VERY NICE AND OUR STAY THERE WAS EXCELLENT. THE ONLY THING THAT I HAD A PROBLEM WITH WAS THE KING BED. MAYBE THE MATTRESS WAS BAD OR SOMETHING BUT IT WAS'NT AS COMFORTABLE AS IT LOOKED ONLINE. BUT OVER ALL WE HAD A NICE STAY, I WILL COME AGAIN!!!
