The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. They had a lot to offer, but didn't get to go snorkling or swim with the dolphins because of limited time. I would stay again, it was worth every penny!

Great Facility
Perfect location, wonderful facility. Impeccably maintained. Rooms were above average for the price and kept up to date and fresh. Only thought was that some of the staff seemed a little amateurish and not well seasoned. Still couldn't lower my appreciation for a beautiful, tranquil vacation spot.

Beautiful resort but pricey
Hawks Cay is a very beautiful resort. It would be a great place for families - lots for the kids - the Indie Club, family pool, lagoon, dolphin facility, bikes, shuttle. They also have a lot for adults, wellness spa, adult only pool and spa, tennis courts, fitness center, bikes, and the marina. This resort is on the expensive side + you had to pay a resort fee of 25$ a day. Drink and food prices were very high. They had breakfast buffet on Sunday morning, 18$ each for breakfast, but slim pickins during the week for breakfast. We drove in and ate breakfast at the Island Fish Company in Marathon - great food and you can eat out by the water. There was a Keurig coffee maker in the room with not that great brand of coffee, even cheap hotels have have complimentary coffee and continental breakfast in the lobby - not Hawks Cay. You could buy Starbucks at the bar in the morning - pricey. We stayed during the week and the evenings on the boring side - we would have liked some live music. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable - very comfy king bed and pillows. The carpet in our room was very stained. At the marina you could charter a dive, snorkel, or fishing adventure - or rent kayaks. We chartered a 4 hr back country/reef fishing trip, again a lil pricey but ended up being the hi light of our trip. Captain Joel with I'm Hooked Charters was great! We caught barracudas, jack, sharks, and snapper.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & CLEANING STAFF
My husband and I had a TERRIBLE experience at this hotel for our honeymoon in September. To start we had NO idea it was a slow season during the first week of September and everything including their restaurant closed at 9pm with no room service or food service after that! We also had a terrible experience with the maid staff where they did not leave towels in the room after cleaning it or soap, shampoo, ect, when we walked into our room that day our bed was not fixed and the pillows that were so beautifully on the bed the day we arrived were thrown on the floor. We had to call to get towels to be able to shower. We had booked through the hotel a sunset cruise that last minute while on the dock we were told, along with many other couples that it was cancelled because they did not realize a private party was booked that day. All in all we did NOT have a pleasant time at Hawks Cay Resort, and before we left we spoke to a manager who offered us 3 days free to try to make up for our bad experience, yet after 3 months of waiting and consistently calling and speaking to person after person we have still not received any voucher and not even an apology for the terrible experience we had, they have NO customer service! And no follow up procedures to ensure things get done. Only stay here if you want to be stressed and not even have one person try to make it better.

5 yr Anniversary Trip
This was by far the BEST vacation we have ever had!!! The hotel was BEAUTIFUL!! The staff was friendly and helpfull. The spa was amazing!!! Food and drinks are a little pricey so make sure you bring a considerale amount of spending cash if you dont plan on leaving the resort. About 7 mins away is the acctual town of Marathon and they have lots of cheaper food choices such as fast food and local restaurants. We drove the entire length of the Keys and never found a resort as beautiful and nice as this one!! While the resort is elegant and upscale I love that they still cater to children! We will defineately be returning with our children!!!

Relax
My husband and I had never been to the Keys, but had always wanted to go. We planned a 5 day getaway for just the two of us. We had no idea what to expect. Well we were very pleasantly surprised!! Hawks Cay was a beautiful resort, as nice as any resort we have stayed at in Hawaii. The staff were all helpful and friendly, the rooms beautifful. The grounds and pools very well kept. I can't wait to go back would love to bring the kids. We did get a great deal through Orbitz, however I do think it is pricey during the peak season. The only suggestion, it that they have more affordable dining in the resort. Otherwise a perfect trip!

Disappointed
We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon. Unfortunately due to a hurricane in our previous destination our flight was cancelled and we were unable to get to this hotel for our first nights stay, therfore we had to cut our stay from 3 nights to 2. We were extremely disappointed that the hotel refused to refund us for the 1st nights stay that we missed out on given the circumstances. The hotel also did not even acknowledge that we were on honeymoon which was also a little disappointing.
