Not what we anticpated!

We paid a lot of money to stay in a 2bdrm/ 2bth villa and we got a 2 bedroom 1 bath villa. We were treated like trash when we took our snacks and drinks to the main resort - yet others took full blown mealsand nothing was said to them. One tram driver in particular acted like he belonged in the jungle in how he dealt with people and our children. I am truly Saddended by this trip overall!!!!!!!!!!! Next time I spend near $2k - i'll make sure to spend it where we will be respected!!!!!!!!!!!

Great service

Very warm welcome, great service everywhere. Would wish to have a little bigger Beach Grill Menu. Breakfast was good, but Terasse room has no atmosphere. Not to crowded in summer time and good to make trips from there Childrens pool, Laguna, Family pool are great for kids.

2nd Trip to Hawks Cay

This was our second stay at Hawks Cay, the major difference being that we stayed in a 2 bed, 1 1/2 bath villa versus a 2+2 previously. Frankly the room was not great and the appliances were not the best, but the service was always good and attentive whenever there were any issues. Those issues included a lack of pots and pans and a broken toaster. Small things like that should not take away from the fact that the facilities at Hawks Cay are top notch. We were right by the Sunset Pool, and the other pools and lagoon were a short walk (or shuttle ride) away. Location in the Keys is beautiful, and Marathon is only 8 miles away for restaurants and shopping.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Not such a short drive, but it's worth taking the time to visit Key West on a Tuesday to Thursday, before the cruise ships come in. There are lots of great bars and restaurants, and there are quite a few options for the kids too.

Fantastic Resort for the whole family.

We could lay by the pool, go to the beach lagoon and look at the dolphins all within a few steps. We felt very safe with our kids walking around the three areas. One day at the kids pool with pirate ship and all was great too!

hawks cay

we had a wonderful time and it was very engaging for our 4 yr old. He loved the pirate ship pool! There is no real "beach" but a man made lagoon with rather rocky sand......not quite the same as being at the beach but quite enjoyable and the lagoon was really nice to swim in. overall a great trip! we would definitely go back!

Great Location for Young Kids

I do not have too many negative comments, as contrary to the other reviews I had read, our villa was fully equipped and everything functioned well. The facilities are excellent, and the salt-water lagoon and the pirate ship pool were sensational for the kids (3 and 5). Marathon is nearby for the grocery, restaurants and miscellaneous stuff. Beautiful facility.

Very nice family vacation

We all had a very nice time, stayed in the Conch Villa 2 bed 2 bath with full kitchen. Flat screens in each room. Pool heated and clean. Also, has lagoon to swim in if you can handle the colder temp. Family also enjoyed the dolphin dockside encounter. Our daughter who is 6 was too short to be able to swim with the dolphins.. children have to be at least 4' 6" to swim with dolphins. Food is good in the Alma restaurant but pricy. We just left the resort to eat at other locations. We enjoyed Sparkey's Landing 10min away. It was rustic Keys type with good food. The kithen was nice also, just went to Publix 10 minutes away a picked up some food and cooked what we wanted. Very restful, good service and all minors issues (broken ice maker) were fixed immediately on the weekend! We would go back.

Great place for anyone

This is a great place for anyone - with or without kids. I was there for a ladies getaway, and we had a fantistic time. The facilities are great - we stayed in a villa which was very comfortable and had a full kitchen. We got some groceries at a local store, and had breakfast and lunch on our patio. The pool was right behind our villa, which was very convenient. The grounds are beautiful, and the view is fantastic. The only negative thing we had was two dead cockroaches in our villa, but otherwise it was clean.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a Publix grocery store a few miles away, with a number of cute little shops around the grocery store.
