The Walt Disney Swan

The overall experience at the hotel was great. Nice location, great customer service, clean rooms, great staff. But there were some down falls like extra hidden hotel room fees and parking fees.

Great Location for Disneyworld Vacation

Located within walking distance to Epcot. Great restaurants inside the hotel. Food costs are on par with the other Disney World attractions. Part of the Westin chain of hotels.

So So

From reviews I read I was expecting something alot better. I have to say the best thing about the hotel was its location, which was right by the Boardwalk and just a ferry ride away from Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Now let's get to the bad...the rooms were dated and dingy. There were even a couple of bugs that came out of the sofa bed that my daughters had to sleep in...yuck!!! And I had read rave reviews about the brunch at Fresh, which is located in the Dolphin, it was the worst breakfast and service I have ever had. The pancakes were terrible as well as the eggs and the juice, that was served in smelly glasses. I don't recommend anyone stay there as I will never again.

Perfect spot

When the dates we wanted were not available at our first choice we booked at the Swan based on previous reviews and were not at all disappointed. The location was great. We prefer to walk so getting to EPCOT, Hollywood studios and the Boardwalk was a breeze. The boat shuttle from the hotel was just as accommodating. Downtown Disney was a short and easy drive down Buena Vista. We had a king room and it was very quiet and comfortable, when we were there... We ate dinner only once at the hotel (Il Mulino) and it was excellent. No complaints what so ever and would certainly recommend the Swan.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Walking access to the Disney Parks we enjoy most was a great option. Transportation to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom readily available right in front of the hotel. Limo or cabs always an option.

The beds set them apart

This is different from Disney resorts it is geared to adults. There is not all the Disney theam and is more modern. If you are plannig to go to Epcot or Hollywood studios this is a great location. I went to Majic Kingdom till 1am and after that the bed was nice to sleep on. The buses run often and drop you off right at the main gate. If you are plannig a romantic getaway on a budget get this place, while out do the drinking around the world at Epcot lots of fun and only a boat ride away...

Lots of places to eat. The room comes with a mini fridge so buy some Publix subs and cold chicken to save alot of money. Boat's do not go to Majic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom.

Thanksgiving at Disney

We were grateful to be allowed an early check in which allowed us to enjoy a whole afternoon and evening at Disney. The location is great, all travel to parks by boat or bus. The only lacking ingredient, inadequate places to enjoy breakfast.

The Boardwalk provides alternatives to the expensive restaurants in the hotel. The ESPN was a fun place to watch a game and it had good food and service

"Deluxe" location for "moderate" price

We stayed here for one night before checking into our Disney hotel (Beach Club) the following morning. After arriving in Orlando in the evening and not wanting to spend $300+ for an additional night at Beach Club, we chose the Swan because of its location and price point (~$140). The hotel definitely caters to the convention crowd and doesn't have the "Disney magic". That being said, the rooms were reasonably clean, the staff was friendly, and you absolutely can't beat the location. It's a short ten minute walk in either direction to the Disney Studios and EPCOT Center. In addition, the immediate area is home to another four resorts, all with premier restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. In short, I would never stay here to get my Disney "fix", but the hotel is decent and the location can't be beat for that price.
