Royal Plaza

On a first quick look, everything here looks fine. But upon closer inspection, you'll notice things like: The paint looks like it has about 30 layers... the carpet wasn't quite cut right and doesn't meet walls too well. Common things like ceiling tiles are mostly stained. The door locks look like they saw better days 10 years ago. It states that they just underwent a refurbishment... if so, they need some of their money back. I then heard that this place was hit pretty hard from hurricanes a couple of years ago, and probably explains a lot of the look of this hotel today. For as much as they charge for the rooms, and the for EVERY amenity add on ($15 a night for a fridge!??!), they should really invest heavily into someone stripping the place bare and doing a proper refurbishment.

The hotel was quite nice and had full amenities; One caution, the concierge was quite misleading when trying to promote the interests of the Westgate Resort program. The time was considerably longer than originally committed and nearly turned into an ugly day. I would suggest if your time is critical that you avoid the concierge information booth. Their primary intent is to promote their Westgate resorts time share program, rather than information sharing. A typical con scheme to exploit the vulnerable vacation traveler. Beware!

The royal plaza hotel is a very good hotel for a low price, this was my second time there, the room was very comfortable and we had a jacuzzi. it has a shuttke service for all the disney parks, the downside is waiting for the shuttle to pick u up from the parks.

The location was very good -- it was really only one long block to Downtown Disney and there were restaurants very close.

The Royal Plaza bus shuttles made it real easy to go back and forth from anything Disney related (Theme Parks, Water Parks and Downtown disney). The room itself was a pleasant suprise. I considered it the prettiest hotel room I've ever stayed in that is offered at a reasonable price. I would stay there again.

This hotel was a great value for the money and the locataion was key to all things Disney. We didn't really spend much time in the room but what little we spent there was fine. The kids had a blast being able to take the Disney buses to all the locations as well as being walking distance to Downtown Disney...for what it's worth I would stay here again.

The hotel was gorgeous and the staff was very kind and helpful with all of our questions about the area. The room was beautiful and the pool area was phenomenal. It was a 7 minute walk to Downtown Disney and I am glad we decided to stay there rather than one of the parks because we took full advantage of Downtown Disney at night after the parks closed! The hotel and location were beautiful and I don't think I have ever had a better stay at any hotel I have ever been to! Everything was top quality and we had shuttle service that ran like clockwork to the parks. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and have recommended it to all of my friends and family for future vacations.

The location was good and the bus service to the Disney parks really was useful. There was usually a problem each night at closing time due to the large number of people needing rides. We would have preferred a small table rather than the loveseat. There was an additional daily charge on our bill. It was $9.00 per day and according to the desk clerk, covered the bus transportation, in-room coffee, shampoo, etc. all of which except for the bus would ordinarily be included in the room rate up front.

The royal plaza was comfortable, the room could be a little bigger, the beds are very comfortable. We didn't have a patio table and called down to see if we can have one and the clerk at the front desk call back and said they don't have one, two days later I went down to the front desk and asked another clerk and she was very nice and got us one that day! we didn't eat at their restaurant so don't know how good it is. overall it was good.

The Royal Plaza at Disney World is close to downtown Disney Marketplace. It is a 10-15 minute walk to/from the hotel and downtown area however I would question the safety of walking, especially in evening, as many paths are not lit and many adjoining hotels are vacant. The standard rooms are outdated however conveniently surround the pool. The pool bar was not open on a weekend in mid-June. Beds were very comfortable and overall this hotel was a good value for the price.
