Great Place

I have taken many trips to Orlando and stayed at many places, but never at a Disney Resort. After staying this weekend I will not stay any place, but a Disney Resort. They made it memorable.

Mid Quality Room but plenty of extras

This is a large hotel, so if you book more than one room call the hotel and request that your rooms be in the same building. There is no valet parking, so plan on walking about 1/4 mile to registration from the parking lot. The rooms are comfortable and the doors in the back of the room close for privacy when changing or waking early. Wifi is available in the lobby and internet service is an extra charge. The pools are fantastic, and you can easily skip the park and spend the day at the hotel. The hotel has several places to eat, from pool side snack bar to an upscale Mayan Restaurant (about $50 per person without liquor). Dress is resort casual. I recommend eating off property at "Disney Pleasure Island" or "Disney Downtown" both have shops restaurants. The hotel offer bus transport to every Disney attraction, and as a bonus for staying at a Disney property - each day one park opens early or stays open an extra 3 hours for people with Disney Resort Room Keys. You can have your Disney tickets attached to your room key electronically by the concierge, that way all you need to take to the park is your ID and room key. The room key acts as a credit card as well at all Disney properties. While this isn't a five star hotel, the perks you get make the cost worthwhile. The additional park hours, easy bus service to all attractions, and a multi use room key, and the theme park style pool (think Disney does Spa Atlantis) all make this a great place to stay. I'm disabled but don't use a wheelchair so getting to and from check in was difficult, and the trek to and from the room was a small hike. So if you have health issues that limit your walking, rent a wheel chair during check in.

Try Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island on the night you check in, if you're not at the parks. There is food and entertainment. You can easily spend a day walking around these free attractions. The pool at the hotel is a Disney version of Spa Atlantis, so the kids will have a great time at the pool, and you can lounge or visit the pool side bar.

Conference delight

The facility was a marvelously well maintained and comfortable location for our conference; the amenities and concierge services were outstanding, the food was excellent and prompt, and everyone on the staff with whom I came in contact was well trained, well mannered. cheerful and a pleasant experience - one of my best in recent years. Well done!! Very reasonable price range for this level of services. Lots of walking in lush scenic settings.

Very Happy with our Stay

We had a very good experience at this hotel. This is an economical hotel and is a good value for the money. The rooms were kept clean and it was a good location as far as getting to and from the Disney parks. We spent all of our daytime hours at Walt Disney World and the transportation to and from the Disney parks was handled effortlessly. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Great Time at Coronado

The coronado was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Casitas 2 and room decor was beautiful! Clean towels everyday. Despite the mixed reviews and complaints we had a really good time at the coronado. We also visited other resorts during our stay and we were definitely pleased we picked the coronado. We decided to eat at the parks so really cant comment about the food.

Expensive

If you really want to stay at a disney hotel with kids then this would be an ok hotel but it was kind of worn looking and nothing special to rave about. BUT i did not think it was worth the money we paid, everything was so expensive.

Beautiful grounds, perfect getaway!

Hubby & I arrived (sans kids!!!) at CSR around 10:30 am on Sunday. I'd faxed a request for a renovated Casitas room, preferably Building 5. The Castmember checking us in told us that we had been assigned a Cabanas room in 9B but it wasn't going to be ready until after 3pm. However, within 10 minutes we were on our way to Casitas 5, a renovated King room which had a parking lot view but was perfectly located on the corner down the hall from the elevator, directly next to building 4. No complaints there. Room was nice, clean, furnishings/bedding new.. who could ask for more! We seemed to be about 1/2 way between El Centro & Dig Site. But we ended up on driving to El Centro to fill up our mugs in the morning for the drive to the parks. And driving over to the 7B parking lot (which was empty because of the renovation there) for a shorter walk to the Dig Site. We rented a car so we didn't use the transportation but we always saw buses coming & going. We also never saw more than a handful of people at the stops. We didn't eat here other than one night when hubby got a $10 Panini from Cafe Rix, he said was not very good. The resident Alligator "Glen" was by El Centro every morning. We also discovered that if you leave CSR by the side gates (by the Convention center) and take a left onto Western(?)... there is a body of water to the right of the road... we saw another Gator there every morning, twice getting out of the water, once sunning himself. He seemed a bit bigger than Glen. First time in 12 trips to WDW that we'd ever seen Gators out & about! Hubby is a smoker so we have some insight to the DSA situation. The smoking restrictions was in NO WAY mentioned at checkin. It may have been in the stuff I signed but definately was not pointed out. DSA's seemed to be all around, never a far walk & very pleasant scenery (unlike at work when they put you out by the dumpsters). We didn't see too much abuse of the smoking restrictions, a few really early morning balcony smokers. Although we like to try different resorts, we would definately try this one again. Especially for trips without the kids! It wasn't All Disney All the Time like other resorts, which was fine by me - been there done that!

Beautiful setting

The landscaping and outdoor scenery including fountains, flowers and the lake are really beautiful. The complex is huge, and it can be quite a walk to get from your room to the lobby - so keep that in mind if you are adverse to walking long distances. The rooms themselves are ok. They offer everything you need, but with no bells or whistles. They are a decent size, with a small dining table, but no WOW-factor here. Internet will cost you $10 a day. The food options at the hotel are OK, Rix Cafe is nice for a drink.

Not likely to stay again

This is the first experience in this venue. Room very comfortable and clean. I was unable to obtain in-room internet access (as published), able to go to business center to get online. Price for food was high and not palatable. Unable to go to other disney sites for meals. Took a taxi in area, approx 20 mile trip which cost 45.00---too expensive for me for 2-3 meals!
