Great pools

We stayed in The Litle Mermaid section of the resort and it is a very long walk to the lobby but the rooms are very nice. They need a better selection of food for children.

Fun for all ages

I took my younger sister to Disney world/ universal for her Armageddon Sweet 16. (12/12/12). We were both slap happy and disoriented from our red eye flight but the "concept artist" who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Every staff I talked to was wonderful, and even though we were 16 and 23 years old we still loved the hotel and amenities. We were amazed just like little kids meeting their favorite Disney characters.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Get you parking pass right when you check in, even if you won't be renting your car until later in the trip. We did not know we needed a permit so we had to hike to the front desk in the evening to get ours.

Vacation with Grandchildren

We stayed at the "Cars" area. It was very nice for two grandparents with Grandchildren 11 and13. The fold out couch and the "Murphy" style pull down bed were comfortable and good size. Two bathrooms and a separate bedroom for the adults worked well for us.

Perfect Disney hotel for cheap

The Art of Animation Hotel is perfect for anyone looking to have that "magical Disney experience" on a budget. The hotel is very cute and the themed areas (Finding Nemo, Cars, Little Mermaid and the Lion King) let you relive the classic movies. The food court offers a little something for everyone and stays open til midnight which is nice if you stay out late in the parks. My only real disappointment was the hardness of the beds. Even after a long day at the parks, it was hard to get a good night's sleep because the beds were not very comfortable. That being said, the hotel room was perfectly decorated with Disney flair and I liked the room on the whole. I've visited the All-Star Resorts and the Pop Century Resort and would have to say that the Art of Animation Resort is my favorite. Definitely worth checking out if you aren't trying to spend a fortune on accommodations!

Make sure to use Disney's Magical Express to and from the airport. The hotel had our boarding passes printed for us and at our door when we woke up to leave. You can also check your bags at the hotel and don't have to worry about them again until you arrive at your final destination!

Ok hotel

The hotel was decoroated for kids very nicely. The beds were hard as rocks! Only full size beds available. For $120 a night I would have expected a little more comfort. I travel frequently with work and I have stated In many hotels that cost a lot less but much nicer

Kids loved all the characters

Perfect hotel for young kids who love these movies! They were so excited to see all their favorite characters.. and we were impressed by all the little touches and GIANT characters (King Triton is HUGE!). The only disappointing thing is the cafeteria-style "restaurant." It is huge, loud, chaotic, and pretty slow-moving through the lines. It reminded me of being back in the school cafeteria. Other than that, loved the room, hotel and especially the outside! The Nemo pool and splash area is amazing!

Bring your own oatmeal packets. They provide paper bowls, plastic utensils and a microwave for the water all in the room. We definitely saved a lot having fruit and oatmeal in the morning and packing PBJs, fruit and snacks for the parks (lunch and snack time). We only bought dinners during our trip. The Pizza at AoA is a great deal if you get the large ($13.99) which is about 3 times the size of an individual pizza ($8.99). Although not the yummiest pizza I've ever had...
