Amazing family trip to Disney

We just visited Walt Disney World and stayed at the Polynesian Resort. We LOVED the resort location, amentities, swimming pool, restaurants, and general feeling of being at the resort. We really felt like we slipped away to Hawaii. It was a great family vacation and we can't wait to go back and stay there again!

Fun first trip to Disney!!

The beach and pool were good spots to relax after a busy day at the parks.... The Hotel was very kid friendly and not very pricey. The concierge room was questionably worth it..... not a lot of food available, but continuous soda and milk which was helpful. The concierge staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurants were good but there was always a wait.....make sure to make reservations way ahead of time. The Breakfast with Lilo and Stitch and Mickey and Pluto was well worth it!!! My little one loved it. Book the earliest time so you dont have to wait in a line! Not a very fancy hotel but the kids seem to like it..... Overall, we had a great time.

Buses to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studio are very crowded in the morning...standing room only. We took a taxi from the hotel to Hollywood Studio for about $16 and were pleased that we didn't have to crowd our 18 month old in the bus. It was well worth it. If you return by bus it is usually OK

Great Family Spot!

The grounds and pool were amazing. Very inviting and fun to return to after days in the parks. Staff checking in was a bit harried--insist on getting your flower lei! They are fun and set the tone. Staff will most likely forget.... Rooms were a bit old, problems with a door, but the location and ambiance was great.

Captain Cook's is easy if you are in a rush and starving. The walk up computer terminal quick service is a life saver. Especially good if you are tired of standing in lines all day!

Expected

Went to Epcot. The hotel is beautiful and nice. Not as clean as years passed and not as much emphasis on the "experience". Room was close to monorail and parking lot, but we booked at last minute.

Overnight at the Polynesian

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. [...] The guard at the gate had our parking pass in minutes, the bell services had our luggage up to our room right away, and the ladies at check-in even made our stay a little extra special with some pixie dust. I saved so much money booking with orbitz that I will definitely use them for our next trip to Orlando.

Request a room in the Tahiti building and then just take a short (under 5 minutes) walk to the ticket and transportation center. You can catch a ferry or monrail to the Magic Kingdom, monorail to Epcot, or a bus to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

one-night stay at the Polynesian

We stayed at the Polynesian for just one night on the tail end of a five-night stay at the Grand Floridian. The room was a little rough around the edges, but overall our experience was excellent! We even got an upgrade to a Magic Kingdom view room!

Peaceful Polynesian

The Polynesian is a beautiful resort. The restaurants on site were wonderful. We love going to Disney and the Polynesian is a great change of pace from the parks. We were initally assigned a room right beside an elevator that was noisy, but we were moved with no problems when we asked for a quieter location.

Beautiful Hotel. Great Location.

As far as Disney Hotels go, this is definitely at the top. The hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The grounds and pathways are gorgeous. The Volcano Pool was lots of fun and the quiet pool, well, was always quiet. Excellent food choices with Kona Cafe and 'Ohanas. Captain Cooks (counter service) was sub par. Very small, crowded, slow and with few choices. Considering the size of the hotel, you would think they would have a larger counter service restaurant. The Poly was very very quiet considering how crowded the parks were. This is definitely a great hotel if you want to come back to the hotel and relax. We would definitely stay here again.

Always make dining reservations at any table service restaurant when visiting Walt Disney World. Walk-up reservation opportunities are few and far between.
