Disney's Contemporary Resort

We went for the marathon, it was very convenient to get to places. Restaurants at hotel had good service and delicious food. The light show on the lake in front of the hotel each evening at 10:10 should be earlier for the sake of children to see and runners who went to bed early the nights before the marathon. Runners who want quiet should ask for the side convention building. Pool noise also echoed up to our room on the 6th floor at night. So we might try the other building next visit, but you can't beat the beautiful view over the lake from our room. We could easily take the monorail to the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian for breakfasts, which is what we did. And took the boats to Wilderness Lodge for a dinner. Note: Whispering Canyon Cafe is far from quiet, lots of noise, encourages kids to scream and run around, have stick horse races during dinner and the waiters scream across the room for ketchup, etc, that's part of their act. But if you taught your kids to not scream indoors or run around during dinner, you might want to skip this restaurant or bring earplugs (will use those for the very loud music in the park parades too). We had a great time at Disney World, always do.

This Contemporary resort is a great hotel. I stayed there 30 years ago and it was just as good this time. It is a great location, especially if you only have one night because you can hop on the monorail to go back to the hotel, eat, change and go back to the park for fireworkds and parades.

The location can't be beat! We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had our breakfast at Chef Mickey's. My four year old had a great time meeting Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. Overall, great experience!

I had heard many wonderful things about staying at Disney properties. Our stay at the Contemporary Resort did not meet expectations. Wear and tear in busy hotel is normal. That said the room needed to be vacuumed and the bathroom was dirty, for the price we paid we expected better. The pool also looked dirty.

The stay was an average. Excellent reception and convenient location but an old facility and the cost are exceeding the return.

Proximity to Magic Kingdom (8-10 minute walk) made all the difference, especially when the park was closing and we didn't have to fight the crowds to take the monorail or buses to get there/back. Food was decent, shopping at the hotel was also convenient and the pool/beach was well maintained.

We were in a beautiful ground level room with views of the pool and lake. While there we enjoyed a day at the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom! This hotel is so comfortable and has great amenities - catching the monorail from the hotel is so convenient and fun. The [...]price made it a great value - Thank you!

This is the best resort at Disney World. The California Grill on the top floor is a great restaurant with a great view of the fireworks show. The beds are comfortable and the room is a good size. It was very easy to stay here because of the very direct access to the monorail. Next time we go to Disney we will only stay at the Contemporary.

The Contemporary is beautiful and so convenient. We had 2 adjoining rooms for 7 family members. It worked perfectly.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The monorail goes right through the hotel. Everything is a short walk. Good choices for food. We had a room overlooking Chef Mickey's..if you are ever bored, you can just people watch. It can be a little noisy if you have a room there, but hey, this is Disney!! [...]at check-in was amazing!
