Nice place

The resort was nice. We were lucky to be located with a smaller pool right outside our door and a very short walk to the food court and larger pool. Quiet and peaceful, with regular buses to the Disney parks.

If you are buying beer in Port Royale, go into what looks like a clothing store. Hidden in that store is a cooler with six packs. Cheaper than buying in the food court. There are also munches in that area.

Departure problems

Not sure if it's a part of the hotel or transportation problem. Magic Express bus arrived 30 minutes late, several people had to take a taxi. At the airport at check-in it appeared that we had 4 items of luggage already checked in, when we tried to check our one suit case, the charge was $125 like for the 5th luggage item instead of $25. We had to wait for the airlines representative to register us over manually and she asked us if we were staying in Disney's resort - so it seems that it's a common problem. As a result we almost missed our flight.

Fab location, lovely setting

Exceeded our expectations, a lovely place to stay right from the friendly staff who greeted us when we checked in. Pool and gardens beautifully maintained, each "village" set around a wonderful lake. We were in Aruba, where king-size room excellent, and well serviced. Can't fault the bus service which worked for us very well - location excellent, central to all things Disney. Good food court, didn't get to try to table service restaurant. Will definitely come back again, an excellent place to stay, the best "Moderate" resort at Disney in our view. Thanks Disney!

fun for the kids

rooms with pirate beds are so great for the kids, nice and clean. Pool with water slide was lots of fun for every one. Hotel grounds were very clean. Only thing to complain about would be the food not great and very expensive, water and soda from machine is $2.75 each when it is only a $1 in most other places out side of Disney.

Overall good value

The staff was extremely accommodating. We were driven right to our room after checking in and we were picked up right from our room when checking out. The Disney's Magical Express was great. We were able to travel to and from the airport without charge. We were also able to check our bags and acquire our plane tickets with Disney's Magical Express when they picked us up from the hotel. The hotel is very large and therefore spread out. We had a 5 minute walk to get food. However, the hotel provides an internal shuttle to take you around the hotel if you would prefer not to walk. There are several bus stops at the hotel, each conveniently close to walk to from hotel rooms. The buses to theme parks came every 20 minutes or so. The bus ride to and from Disney parks took about 20 minutes each way. Transportation to Disney parks is free, however many people also visit Universal, Sea World, etc (non-Disney parks). Taking a taxi to these places costs $40 each way. The hotel has partnered with a shuttle bus (Mears), which costs $20 each person round trip to non-Disney themed parks. You schedule a pickup time from the hotel with Mears directly and you call Mears 2 hours before you want to be picked up from the park. We mostly ate at Epcot, but of the food we ate at the hotel, it was pretty good. We did not use the pools, but they looked like they were well maintained. Overall, good experience, can't complain!

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Eat at Kouzzina at DInsey's Boardwalk! Fantastic Greek food! There are no buses directly to Boardwalk. You must take a bus to Epcot or Hollywood Studios and then you can either walk to boardwalk or take a ferry boat. Just make sure you get back to a park in time for a bus!

Grown ups who want to have fun

My husband and I are in our 50's but still have our inner child. We love to relax for a day or two on vacation, but then we need to have some fun. Disney is the perfect place that has everything for everyone. Relax at the pool, go to Typhoon Lagoon and then get on a ride and scream. We have stayed in the lower priced resorts when we are only there a few days and are rarely at the hotel. We have stayed in the higher priced resorts when we are staying for a longer period of time and know that we will be hanging out at the hotel and make that part of the vacation experience.
