Buena Vista Palace

The downsides of this hotel on a great trip were weird and unnecessary, and the upside (very nice room, excellent location, very reasonable price) are all important, so this is more like 3.4 stars than 3.0. Downsides: a horribly mismanaged cafe (Water Cress) inside meant that the simple act of getting a caffeine boost in the am became stressful chaos amidst awful pastries and slow, poorly managed service. Hard to over-emphasize how much the cafe needs new management. Also, the following are small pet peeves: * Randomly, our do not disturb was taken out of the door (by a bratty kid nearby?), *the light switch by the door didn't work, *the remote was nearly run out of batteries, * directions to disney had to be sought out rather than readily supplied, our room had only one soap for two people to share bw the sink and the shower, We also had a series of bad experiences with the Disney bus system, run on this route by Mears, but unclear if that was simply because the place was packed for Xmas. But, eg, having misinformation reach the back of the bus about what hotel we were stopping at (it was ours, but we were told it was the best western) was among several indications that the system was collapsing. Not a small thing on a trip to Disney. But on the other side, a large room with a nice view (and we had one of the cheapest rooms--lakeside view), great bed, close walk (if you go under covered walkway) to downtown disney (although the intersection should be controlled for pedestrians, fault for which lies with car-centric Florida politicians). The common spaces in the building are nice, the gym and pool a bit dated but we didn't use either. Overall--the pluses are more important than the minuses and are more likely to recur for you, but i feel like giving 4 stars would take away from the accumulation of unforced errors.

This hotel was amazing! The room was very spacious & clean. Nice flat screen TV & King Size bed. Request a high floor room the view over Downtown Disney is Breathtaking! You are literally cross a street to get to Downtown Disney. They have busses that provide access to the parks that run every 30 minutes (saves you $15/day for parking at the parks). There is a $16/day resort fee that covers parking, internet, bus transportation to & from parks. My only complaints are that the shower goes cold after about 2 minutes and it is also fairly noisy in the hallways in the morning. I could hear the maids walkie talkies all morning. I was also disappointed to be charged an additional $20/hr for late check out which typically is no charge at other hotels as long as the extended stay is within reason (1-2 hrs). Hopefully they will fix these issues because other than that our stay was perfect!

Great location for disney. The only complaint was shower water not hot enough. Perfect motel for familys are anyone planning to vist disney or downtown disney which is across the street. I will return.

My husband and I had been to this hotel 4 years ago, so when we decided to visit Disney again before the birth of our first child, it was the first to come to mind. The hotel's location is unbeatable: right across from downtown Disney and close to all the restaurants and gift shops of 535. The parks are about 15-20 min away. Our stay was very comfortable. The room was impeccably clean and the staff was attentive. We had a little problem with our door, since the electronic lock ran out of battery and we had someone come up immediately to fix it. We had the privacy sign on for all three days, so we didn't get a turnover, but got a call from the cleaning staff to make sure that we didn't want it. I think showing concern like that is good service anywhere. My only complaint would be that the morning we were leaving, at around 7 or 8 our sleep was interrupted by vacuuming in the room next door, some shouting and doors being slammed. Other than that, the experience was flawless. We didn't have time to enjoy the amenities, so I can't comment on them. I would recommend this hotel.

In front of Downtown Disney, just 3 min walk. They only need to clean more frecuently the area of the pool. Friendly staff.

The location of the hotel is great. We can go shopping, take shuttles and buses in/near downtown Disney. The only concern is that 18.71 US Dollars are charged as resort fee, which hasn't been stated duiring the booking process.

I loved staying at this place. From the room to the bus service to all the theme parks.

The room was excellent and the fact that pool was open for 24 hours was a major plus. The only downside were the shuttles going to and from the the Disney Parks. They were often late and when they did come early, they would stay for ten seconds and not wait for other possible passengers. Other than that my stay was quite enjoyable.
