Contemporary lodging and a spectacular pool with 40-foot waterslide

The main draw -- a 40-foot waterslide -- is a favorite for guests of all ages who also make use of the renovated fitness center and four on-site restaurants and bars. Free scheduled shuttle service to Walt Disney World eases the commute to theme parks.

Highlights
  • Free scheduled shuttle service to Walt Disney World
  • Picturesque pool with 40-foot waterslide
  • Kids 12 and under eat free for breakfast and dinner in Mandolin's or the Sports Lounge with a paying adult
  • Fitness center with weights and cardiovascular machines
  • Free Wi-Fi
Rooms

Italian furniture, granite and marble bathrooms, and European duvets lend sophistication to 718 rooms and suites, which come with 25-inch televisions, free Wi-Fi, safes and coffee-makers. Rooms at the Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration provide views of ponds, courtyards and the hotel grounds. In select rooms, guests fall asleep atop Sleep Number mattresses.

Features

Free scheduled shuttles operate to Walt Disney World, but numerous on-site amenities make the case for staying in. The jewel of Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration is the sparkling free-form pool made more enticing by a 40-foot waterslide, waterfalls and surrounding patio tables for alfresco dining.

Dining

The Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration has four restaurants and bars to keep visitors nourished and hydrated. Mandolin's is a magnet at breakfast, when guests flock to the buffet for fruits, pastries and eggs served all ways. The restaurant also pleases parents -- kids under 12 eat free at Mandolin's and the Sports Lounge with a paying adult.

Nice Vacation

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very helpful and kind. Although we did not participate, I also enjoyed the fact that there were daily activities planned for the kids. I especially enjoyed happy hour in the sports lounge.

Great hotel & facilities

Great hotel, with a beautiful tropical pool area and on site restaurant with great food. Close to just about everything--restaurants, shopping, Disney/Universal parks. Our 4th stay and have never been disappointed. Great price compared to nearby hotels.

Perfect average & location

The hotel was a resort that was perfectly average. While going to disney world & sea world this was a very convenient area. It compares really good with prior trips we have taken.

disappointing

The first night I had to call housekeeping to change bed as there was dried blood on the sheets. The second day after returning from a Disney park at 10:30 PM we discovered that the room had not yet been made up. I spoke to the duty manager who dispateched housekeeping and assured me this would be corrected in the future. On the fourth night we returned to room about 5:30 PM again to find room had not yet been made up. It took about an hour to for this to be completed which caused us to miss reservations for dinner. Although management was friendly and apologetic the issue was not geting resolved. Needless to say this impacted the enjoyment of our four day trip. Also, although the facilities in general are adequate, the exterior was not kept very clean. There was trash on the grounds and in the common stairwells of the building entrance. This trash remained there during the length of our stay. Not up to Radisson standards.

Alone time

Great priced resort. Looking for a couple of days of alone time before flying back home to NY. Unfortunately the weather was tornado warnings and rain so we did not get to utilize any resort perks. The two pools and hot tub looked beautiful but did not have a chance to experience it. The rooms are somewhat outdated with very hard beds and the shower could have been cleaner (moldy). Overall the staff and resort was a really nice place to stay.

soso

The hotel was average, however they charged a resort fee for things that they did not offer, or that we did not use. The room was missing all the pages on the information book, only one phone worked in the room. I would have to wait a long time for anyone to answer at the front desk. Over all it was average, but I would not stay there again.

Average accomodations, friendly staff.

Average hotel room, bathroom was well equipped and clean, but fixtures could use some updating. Individual control for AC and heat, cable TV service, internet available, but ask if your room receives WIFI or do you need to use ethernet cable. Dorm size fridge, no freezer compartment. Coffee maker brews only one cup at a time, no warming tray, no auto set-up, you need to drink it right away. Beds were comfortable, they provided both firm and soft pillows. They provided alarm, iron and ironing board, they also have a guest washer and dryer. Staff was friendly, our housekeeper was professional.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

We did not use their restaurant, so cannot speak to that. Staff recommended Charlie's Steakhouse, short walk next door. I would not recommend, I found the prices exorbitant, and the food was just average. There are scores of other better restaurants just a short drive away.

The Good, the bad and unacceptable

Arrived on March 21/11 and was assigned room 4701 which was clean and acceptable, however the room service got later and later every day and on March 30,the room wasn't done and it was 415pm and I went to the Executive Office and spoke to a gentleman who agreed that this was not acceptable and saqid it would be corrected and a maid cleaned the room and the Housekeeping Manager [...]advised my wife that in future it would be completed by 10 am and enquired when we were leaving and was advised April 2nd. Low and behold, I again had to go to the office and spoke [...]the General Manager who was aware of the previous days issue and also [...]commitment of 10 am and it was now 115pm and the room was still not done. [...]said it would be corrected and shortly after a maid arrived as well as [...]who said the Maid did the wrong room as a result of the poor handwriting on the note he left and he was sorry, I enquired as to why he didn't follow up and speak to the maid the next day and he said he did and on the next hand he said she didn't speak or write english, it clearly was an untruth on [...]part. The final straw was I put in a wake up call for 5 am on Saturday April 2nd to ensure I got to the Airport for my Flight and guess what no call. It is clear that this hotel and its staff have little or no follow up. The seriousness of missing ones airplane because of their lack of responsibility cannot be overstated as to not only the financial implications but the stress it would cause. Finally the daily resort fee is bogus, I didn't use the phone, the shuttle bus, the pool, the excerise room and in any hotel I stayed at previously this was included in the features. For these reasons I wouldn't consider staying here in future and I would suggest the Raddison General Manager should go north and south on #192 and see all the hotels and restaurants that are closed and these are not small mom and pop operations but rather larger chains and facilities and these folks need to realize they are killing the goose that layed the golden eggs. The long and short of it is the resort fee is a rip off.Brian Simpson
