Florida -- in all its incarnations -- and free shuttles to Disney parks

The Gaylord Palms epitomizes Florida grandeur. The sprawling resort pays homage to the various regions of the state, from breezy Key West to old-world St. Augustine. Four and a half acres of themed experiences under glass walk guests through theme park-like exhibits filled with lush foliage and architecture that capture the identity of the featured area. Rooms complement the style of each wing. Amenities tend to every need, whether it is scheduled transportation to Walt Disney World or babysitting services.

Highlights
  • Four and a half acres of themed experiences to showcase the regional architecture of Florida
  • Six restaurants and lounges
  • Clearwater Cove, which features a zero-entry pool, octopus water slide and sand play area
  • Relache Spa with salon and fitness center
  • Scheduled shuttle service to Disney theme parks
Rooms

Lining the perimeter of four themed atriums, the 1,406 rooms of the Gaylord Palms are designed to mimic Key West, the Everglades, St. Augustine and Emerald Bay. Spaces wow with striped cabana fabrics, Spanish and Mission-style furniture and rich woods. Amenities aim for extra pampering, from glass-enclosed, walk-in showers to lighted magnifying makeup and shaving mirrors. Balconies encourage guests to take in the circus-like views below.

Features

If the massive boat "docked" in the Key West Atrium does not grab the attention of Gaylord Palms guests, then the live alligator feedings and oversized octopus fountain in Clearwater Cove will. Relache Spa, a 20,000-square-foot oasis, pampers visitors from head to toe with an extensive menu of massages, facials, body treatments and nail and hair services. The spa is also home to a 4,000-square-foot fitness center equipped with cardiovascular machines and Smith Press System.

Right in the middle of everything. Without the Disney price.

Great hotel. Ten minutes to Disney, universal, and sea world. Have stayed at Disney resorts. But this was better. And much more reasonable. Water park and restaurants on site. Have to pay to park which seemed unnecessary and the shrek characters are only on the weekend. Other than that a great deal!!

very family friendly, lots of restaurants

Gaylord Palms was a beautiful place to stay. The pools were great the rooms were clean, restaurants were all very good and there were about 5 or 6 to choose from. Or you can just order in your room and you get restaurant qualily food and it comes within a half an hour or it's free. There was a great bar by the pool the kids game room was a lot of fun and to top it all off you can go shopping, there were about 4 or 5 stores. And last was the transportation to the parks, you were there within 15 minutes, it was overall a great vacation and we will go back there.

Beautiful place to stay

My husband and I stayed here, just the two of us. Gaylord Palms Resort is one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. The service was exceptional. Every single staff member we encountered was sincere, very friendly, and seemed to go that extra mile for us (early check-in, free room upgrade, courtesy call to the room to make sure check-in went smoothly and room was satisfactory, etc). The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our first day we spent hours just exploring the hotel. Their attention to detail is unmatched. Gorgeous landscaping and the atrium is breathtaking. We walked into the atrium and just stood there for a few minutes.... taking it all in. We only ate one meal in the hotel.... their award winning Sunday Brunch. Pricey, but worth every penny. Families traveling with little ones may not have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the hotel like we were able to, but there were many families with small children there too. They have a family pool that is open 24 hours. I was surprised how close this hotel was to all the major attractions. Highly, highly recommend this hotel!

Great Customer Service

Each member of the hotel staff went out of his/ her way to make uf feel like VIPs. They were friendly and demonstrated a real caring that our visit be a great one. The front desk clerk was especially helpful in making sure that we had a special room since this was our wedding anniversary; the waiter made us feel like we were his most important customers despite the fact that the restaurant was full; the staff throughout the hotel smiled and greeted us wherever we went-- The sincerity was evident throughout our stay.

Beautiful place

This is a great hotel. The staff goes out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. Everyone was pleasant. The only complaint was the water fountain in the center of the hotel kept me up all night. Maybe they could sound proof the door or make thicker curtains. I have visited the Gaylord in Nashville as well and I think this chain puts all others to shame. Customer service is outstanding!!

Pretty good stay

The hotel has a great location. The atreum is gorgeous and very fun. What isn't fun are the unspoken fees you get on your bill when you check out. Parking is about 13 dollars a day. Other than that it was great!

Gorgeous, Great Location, & Affordable

The resort was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were very spacious and plush w/a good sized balcony overlooking pools and various restaurants. An indoor reptile/fish area, a recreation of the fort at St.Augustine, a walk-in tile shower, and a personal in-room computer were a couple of the pleasant suprises. The staff was extremely friendly and even allowed us to check in early when we got in to town early. The restaurants had phenominal food within the hotel. Definitely will go back! :)

Extremely friendly and efficient!!!

From the time our car rolled up into the driveway to check in ALL hotel staff members were friendly and more than efficient. It is a gorgeous hotel, the food was absolutely delicious, especially the Italian cruisine. My grandchildren loved eating on the boat. I definitely recommend the Gaylord as The place to stay when visiting the Orlando, Fla area.
