Florida -- in all its incarnations -- and free shuttles to Disney parks

The Gaylord Palms epitomizes Florida grandeur. The sprawling resort pays homage to the various regions of the state, from breezy Key West to old-world St. Augustine. Four and a half acres of themed experiences under glass walk guests through theme park-like exhibits filled with lush foliage and architecture that capture the identity of the featured area. Rooms complement the style of each wing. Amenities tend to every need, whether it is scheduled transportation to Walt Disney World or babysitting services.

Highlights
  • Four and a half acres of themed experiences to showcase the regional architecture of Florida
  • Six restaurants and lounges
  • Clearwater Cove, which features a zero-entry pool, octopus water slide and sand play area
  • Relache Spa with salon and fitness center
  • Scheduled shuttle service to Disney theme parks
Rooms

Lining the perimeter of four themed atriums, the 1,406 rooms of the Gaylord Palms are designed to mimic Key West, the Everglades, St. Augustine and Emerald Bay. Spaces wow with striped cabana fabrics, Spanish and Mission-style furniture and rich woods. Amenities aim for extra pampering, from glass-enclosed, walk-in showers to lighted magnifying makeup and shaving mirrors. Balconies encourage guests to take in the circus-like views below.

Features

If the massive boat "docked" in the Key West Atrium does not grab the attention of Gaylord Palms guests, then the live alligator feedings and oversized octopus fountain in Clearwater Cove will. Relache Spa, a 20,000-square-foot oasis, pampers visitors from head to toe with an extensive menu of massages, facials, body treatments and nail and hair services. The spa is also home to a 4,000-square-foot fitness center equipped with cardiovascular machines and Smith Press System.

Convenient and beautiful

This is a very lovely, relaxing hotel. It is especially beautiful when decorated for Christmas. The room was comfortable and the location was great - very conveneient for Disney's Animal Kingdom. Our only disappointment was that the Christmas shows were not offered during the week at the hotel in the evenings. We had stayed here before and enjoyed the shows.

Right in the middle of everything. Without the Disney price.

Great hotel. Ten minutes to Disney, universal, and sea world. Have stayed at Disney resorts. But this was better. And much more reasonable. Water park and restaurants on site. Have to pay to park which seemed unnecessary and the shrek characters are only on the weekend. Other than that a great deal!!

Gorgeous! RECOMMEND! note fees, be wise

we loved the resort and plan to stay there again, highly recommend it, there is soooooo much to do...and so little time. We have a 3.5 year old and sadly I discovered I should have stayed at an Embassy Suite instead -- only because we spent most of the day at Disneyland with our little one and did not have a chance to absorb the events and beauty at Gaylord... this resort is better suited for families with adolescents... I needed to use valet parking due to our late returns and issues with unexpected cold weather and the baby($20 daily, but much appreciated) that, plus the manditory resort fee ($15 daily) raised the tab significantly over several days (that's why I said I should have stayed at a smaller place -- we only really absorbed Disney) I was so sad NOT to have enjoyed the resort's winter wonderland - we'll catch it next time!!....despite the extra expense we hav NO REGRETS, it is what it is!! it's GORGEOUS!! spacious, clean, full of life and activities, we recommend you stay there only if you plan on taking in the resort events, pool, restaurant, shopping and activities for the kids. WE CAN'T WAIT for our little dude to grow up so we can go back in 3 to 4 years. Plan ahead, Gaylord resort is a feast and worth it, GREAT PEOPLE! THANKS FOR A GREAT VACATION MEMORY!!! lots a awesome pics.

a very short drive from Disneyland, if you have a week, you can split the time between the Disney park and the Gaylord complex pool and activities!

First Class resort

The Gaylord Palms resort is a great place to stay. The accomadations are excellent. The rooms and facility are immaculate. The pools are open 24 hours. My family, teens, 20's to age 50 enjoyed. Spa and dining first class.

No regrets here.

Beautiful hotel and room. The kids loved exploring. Long chcek in line, but was upgraded for free at the front desk. Kid pool was amazing and I am stiil trying to recreate their margaritas. Parents booked at a Disney resort and it was definitely not as nice or roomy and much more expensive. Beware of breakfast options, either a $30 per person breakfast buffet or crazy busy, but slightly less overpriced coffee cafe.

BEST HOTEL EVER!! CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK

From the moment we checked in we were treated like royalty!! We were on our honeymoon and were upgraded to a beautiful suite, with 2 balconies overlooking the amazingly beautiful atrium. Shortly after getting settled in, we were sent up complimentary beers and snacks!! The pool was a saltwater pool and was so warm!! Another great thing was that there was an adult 18 or over bar, as well as a family pool. So, it's really ideal for families or couples!! Also, there was poolside servers for ordering drinks and food!! I highly recommend the drinks that come in the giant footballs, lol. I had the jaguar juice : ) They are a great value!! What a romantic setting with the beautiful atrium, pictures don't do it justice. It was so relaxing to look at the beautiful waterfalls and all the fish!! They even had little alligators. We had a couple of really amazing dinners here, Villa de Flora and the Old Hickory Steakhouse were phenomenal!! Also, Java Coast has the BEST COFFEE EVER!!! I was addicted to their iced caramel lattes while I was there, I even tried googling Java Coast to see if there was one nearby where I live, no luck : ( I can't even begin to tell you what a romantic honeymoon we had here, the restaurants were overlooking the beautiful atrium and waterfalls. Also, we went to Disney a couple days, and they provide a shuttle service for guests to Disney and I believe Universal as well which is nice because then you don't have to pay for parking at those locations. It is literally right down the road from disney!! We will never forget our time at Gaylord Palms and I know we WILL BE GOING BACK : )
