Uncomfortable beds

Over all good experience. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The staff was pleasant. It is an older hotel and it shows in the cleanliness. The staff does the best they can with cleaning. They are prompted with getting extras to you. No blankets in the room or on the bed.

Friendly and helpful staff

We spent three weeks at this hotel and found the staff were excellent. They took time to explain things and were always polite and smiling. We had a problem with our fridge and mentioned it at breakfast. By teatime we had a replacement. The rooms are comfortable and you have a 'mini kitchen'. However, no cooking or eating utensils whatsoever. You can get heavy duty paper plates, cups and cutlery from Wal-Mart cheaply, so no major issues. The rooms are cleaned everyday to an adequate standard, but there doesn't seem to be any set day for getting fresh towels. Some days we had 8, other days none!! Breakfast is cereal, cakes and toast with various spreads, but there is no limit to what you have. The location is good for eating out and there are several restaurant/bars in the immediate area, all reasonably priced. Most places have good value choices for families eg kids eat free, but still OK for a couple to afford. We would stay here again.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take advantage of the voucher booklets, available in the hotel and also in most ticket sales offices. We saved lots of money on meals out and evening shows by using these. Everybody does it! The Wild Side bar next to the hotel is great and you can get vouchers too.

Transportation

To stay in this hotel you need transportation, cabs were at least $25 one way just to travel a few miles. I suggest renting a car or driving your own down. Staff took 3 days to tell us about public transit. Public transit was perfect and allowed us to go all over unfortunately no one told us about it until the end of the trip. Also the guest services is run by a company, not the hotel so they are worried about commissions ask the actual hotel staff, they are very helpful. Pool is heated and was beautiful although the deck could have used a power washing. Breakfast was decent. The gift shop that you want to use is across the i92 it has a wizard on it, cheapest prices for Disney souvenirs.

Great for its value

Me and a friend were looking for the cheapest flight and hotel combo and were willing to go for lesser hotels, but this was a really great hotel for as little as we paid. The staff was friendly, the pool was heated to 72 degrees, the rooms were clean, there was a mini fridge and microwave in the suite, and the shuttle bus to the parks was very prompt. There's a lot of things within walking distance for those who don't want to rent a car (we didn't and stayed for 4 days without trouble). There were gift shops, an ice cream place, and a mini golf course as well as the normal fast food places. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends or family.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

A short drive away in either direction are bowling alleys in case the weather is less than desirable. My friend and I weren't able to go because the local bus would've taken too long to take us there, even though they are only a 10 minute drive away.

As expected and MORE!

At this price, you need to know you aren't staying at the Ritz Carlton. However, it did feel like we were at least staying at a clean, friendly hotel. Some other people's review point out that the breakfast isn't much which is sort of true, but it's not bad either. A little busy at certain times, but a decent selection. Staff response to requests was lightning fast. (Requested a crib and extra coffee for the in room coffee maker). You obviously can't beat the location if you have access to a car. The shuttle was not exactly the fastest way to get to and fro, but it did the job the one day we needed it! If you are planning a trip to Disney, book one of the Disney resorts if you can swing it. It really is the best way to go, but if you want to save a few bucks and get a good place to stay, book at the Baymont!

It might seem obvious to some people, but many people may not realize that this hotel is literally RIGHT next to a "back" entrance to WDW. DON'T get onto busy 192 to go to the parks, take a left onto Sherberth Road and go in the back way next to Animal Kingdom. (Just look at Google Maps).

Excellent family getaway

I highly recommend this hotel, Excellent family getaway. Excellent service , Very courteous staff, . Great breakfast with a wide variety of eatables, which was complimentary. The hotel is located in an ideal location, very close to Disney attractions. They also had this free shuttle to Disney (Personally I visited Magic Kingdom,Epcot and Animal kingdom, the shuttle served all these places). Well thought room amenities microwave, fridge coffee maker, comfortable beds. I will definitely back to this hotel on all my future visits

If you are looking for a room and no frills, this is the place for you

Check in was pleasant. The lobby is clean, modern and well-maintained. The hotel is in a nice location not too far from Disney and Universal and near many restaurants and stores. Our room was in a nice location near pool and lobby. The room was small. We had the Kid's Suite and there was a full size bed, a twin bed and twin bunk beds. There is no place to gather, sit or eat in the room. No couch or table. The rooms are only partially divided, so there is no privacy or noise control. The fridge was broken and some of our food spoiled because it wasn't getting cold. They did replace it promptly when we called the front desk. The bar sink faucet shot off when I turned it on. They gave us 3 towels the first day (even though we checked in 5 people) and then 2 towels on the other days after we asked for more towels?!? We also had to request more blankets for the beds and more pillows also. The outdoor pool was nice and it was warm. No hot tub though. Continental breakfast ends promptly at 9am, so be quick. No fruit, no oatmeal, no yogurt (it had nothing I would eat) only donuts, muffins and cold cereal along with coffee, milk and juice. Don't get your Disney tickets here or else you'll be roped into a timeshare spiel. I probably would not stay here again, although we got a nice deal through O****z.
